Question (For Nicole) of the Week
Q: What do you wanna be when you grow up?
The BooBoo Article
By Danny C. February 9, 2002
A: Ah, what a question..What do I want to be when I grow up? Well there's many things I want to be, but things that are actually reasonable to be thinking about...now that's another thing.. Well I would like to do something that I'm good at, and something that makes me happy... I love writing, but I don't know if I'm very good at it. It's also pretty hard to get a good paying writing job... Yes, I would like to make a lot of money, but I know I won't be able to make a lot when I'm young... But I made a little goal for myself... To make my first million by the time I'm 30...But then again, by that time, a million dollars won't be much.. Anyway, I'd like to be something in the "creative" field. Perhaps in advertising...something dealing with ideas or writing... I believe that I have a great deal of ideas that I can provide people with dealing with just about anything. I know that I have to figure out what I want to become and who I want to be soon, and I probably won't really know until much later, but what I do know is that I want to be successful and happy...like everyone else.
BooBoo #1:  Smokers and Smoking.
Smoking is bad. I mean I can see why people would want to drink...Because it makes you feel good for a little while...BUT THEN GIVES YOU A HANG OVER THE NEXT MORNING!!...But that's not the point..Anyway, smoke hurts your throat! And kills your lungs! And whats WORSE is that it effects the PEOPLE AROUND YOU! Man, I really hate when people are smoking on the streets or at Ala Moana and they're walking past me right when I take in a deep big gulp of fresh air. Chokes the living daylights out of me.. Anyway, I think that tobacco is awful and I wish it never existed. It IS a booboo.

Nikki
Dear Nikki, I've never been in a relationship before but I just met this girl a week ago and I think she likes me and I like her...I'd like to go out with her but I don't know how to ask her out..you know..properly.                                                           ~Hopeless Romantic
Dear Hopeless Romantic,
It all of course matters on what kind of girl this is. Do what appeals to her. You want to try to be sweet, but don't overdo it. You want to try to be cool, but not so cool that you're freezing and need a blanket. Ask her, not online through email or chat, or phone, but in person. It's the best way, as well as the most serious. Now I have been asked out several times, and you want to know through what method I have been asked out by? ONLINE! About three guys or so have all asked me out online. No wonder I told them no. Don't blow it, Hopeless Romantic. If you do, it may make the whole relationship you have with this girl go down the drain. Do it right. Go out some place with this girl and maybe some time during your conversation, tell her that you really like her and want to go out with her. Most times, right after you say "I really like you," the girl will most likely know what's coming up. So look for reactions. Look for fiddling fingers, eyes, eye brow movements, twitching lips...haha okay I'm just getting too deep into it. But hey! You gotta look for signs! Well for some people you just don't know what they're thinking, sign or no sign. But for most people, you can get a pretty good idea. Anyway, if you see any signs of hesitance, you might not want to go through with it. If she starts to smile, then charge on! She likes ya! Haha, I'm no pro. I'm just telling you "what women want."... I wish some guy would tell me what men want....

Movie Ratings
Big Fat Liar
* 1/2
This is a KID's movie. If you are 13 and older, DO NOT SEE IT! It will make you feel STUPID just WATCHING IT!

Black Hawk Down
{No Stars}
This was the worst movie I have ever seen. I know everyone else thinks that it was so good but I think it sucks...But that's cuz I hate war movies.

The Opinionated Column
You must be thinking "The OPINIONATED column?? The whole THING is opinionated!" Well sure the style of writing I use is very opinionated, but here's where I say it all.
I think that high schools should be geared towards student's wants. I believe that they should give students the choice of classes that he or she wants. If a kid wants to be a doctor, he should take math and science classes, as well as doctor prep classes. If she wants to be a lawyer, she should take law classes, as well as debate and English. Of course if the child is indecisive, he or she could just take a well rounded range of classes like students do now...You know many people think my idea is stupid because most kids really don't know what they want to be.. But the thing is.. even though a lot of people don't know what they
want to be, a great deal of them know what they know they DON'T want to be. You see.. I am aweful in math, so I wouldn't dare become an engineer or mathmatician or anything like that! I want to be something DEALING with english and literary arts stuff and advertising. Like I said in my Q/A section of the article, I am indecisive on what I specifically want to be, but I know what field I want to be in. If schools were like this, it would help me to decide what I wanted to be...But they're not...Especially my school...That gives you no choices in which classes to choose..
