The Brackets
< ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
There are some modifications that need to be made to the accessory brackets for this conversion.

Alternator Bracket:
The stock alternator bracket on a 2.2/2.5 with Air Conditioning doesn't even come close to fitting without some serious modifications.  There are basically 2 different ways to go about this.
1) Start by basically cutting it in half (longitudally where A/C unit sat).  You'll need to take an extra notch out of the thicker/larger stud "pedistal" to clear for the Timing belt. The pictures should give a good general idea of what needs to be done for this mod to work tho.
   - I took as much extra material out as I was comfortable with, no point in leaving extra weight just laying there.
2) If you can get one of the "A/C Delete" Brackets (used on 2.2/2.5's that didn't come with factory A/C.
   - Just that simple!!!

Power Steering Bracket:
Now there are 2 different brackets that were used on 2.2/2.5's throughout their production dates.    -- The old style (which is what I have and prefer) uses a metal pump housing and has an extra "leg" going to the middle of the block on the back side to help stabilize it.
-- The new style (all 89+ cars have them as far as I've seen, must be a Common Block thing) utilizes a plastic pump housing that is prone to cracking if you aren't careful.
  *However, it's bracket design doesn't use the extra "leg" mentioned on the old style so there is better clearance on the back for routing lines later.
***Either style should require the same modifications for clearances.

The DOHC head hangs over the back of the block unlike the older SOHC, so you need to notch out a small area to clear that, and you will need to grind down the lip on the timing belt side where the belt crosses it.  Look at the pics for a better idea.
There's the Stock AC bracket from the front
Side shot of the Stock unit w/ Alt. at bottom
It's fuzzy, but it's the best I could do.  The P/S bracket (left) has a shinny metal part, that  is where I had to grind down for mine to clear.
Yours will probably vary per application!!!
