“I don’t understand.”
“You wouldn’t.” Lance said sharply, glaring at Yellow. Red laid a restraining hand on his lover’s arm, and Lance sighed, closing his eyes.
“The
“What do you mean?” Yellow frowned. “We both have Viridian’s Power. You just choose to use it for evil.”
Her tone of absolute self-righteousness caused the Dragon Master to narrow his eyes. “You do not feel as strongly as I do, certainly. When you pull away, you no longer hear a pokemon’s thoughts. But imagine, if you can, never being able to walk away and hearing the current of a hundred thousand lifetimes in your mind, clamoring for vengeance against humanity.”
Yellow gaped at Lance. Red nodded.
“Why do you think Lance called himself the embodiment of the pokemon’s vengeance? Pokémon don’t lie, you know. Lance feels what all pokemon feel, and the majority of pokemon are unhappy with the destruction humans have wrought. How could he not act with the voices inside of him?”
“I don’t believe you.” Yellow said shakily. “It’s just an excuse.”
“Say what you will,” Red murmured, before he stood. Lance followed, and for a moment, Yellow sensed a shifting, but then, it was over and it was just a trainer she loved and a trainer she hated.
Why did Red like someone like him?
“She’s spoiled.” Red muttered, when they were out of earshot. Lance nodded; eyes half-closed. Red smiled.
“You’re tired, aren’t you?”
“Listening to her pokemon’s voices was taxing.” Lance replied mildly. “She is so full of herself.”
Red chuckled. “That’s why I don’t like her. She’s too naïve. She doesn’t understand that power is a double-edged sword – or maybe she just got lucky. She certainly doesn’t seem to show the symptoms you do.”
Lance shrugged. “She’s a blind fool.”
“Yes.” Red agreed. “I’d rather see the entire picture. She sees only what she wants to see. I hope I’ll never be blind like she is.”
Lance half-smiled. “You’ll see more than the complete picture with me around, I’m afraid.”
“I don’t mind.” Red replied. “I like your pictures.”
Lance closed his eyes, and Red waited patiently, knowing that the hum inside the Dragon Master’s mind had started again. It must be terrible, but it was a useful power at times, allowing Lance to influence the minds of a thousand dragons…
Lance finally quieted the voices, and that was when Red kissed him, knowing that now he had his full attention.
Fangs flashed in a smirk, and Lance kissed back, not needing to explain.

Yellow must die… and the idea came to me while I was reading Ella Enchanted. At first I wanted to give Lance the curse of obedience but that might make him OOC…
