Dragon Dance

Ash, Brock, and Luna were now resting in the Blackthorn City pokemon center after Ash's match with the new gym leader, Chase, who in Luna's opinion seemed to make the gym a fire gym. "I'm surprised, Ash. We haven't even been in Johto for two months and you already have all the badges." Brock said.

"Yeah, we really have been traveling kinda fast haven't we?" Ash asked.

"I guess so. That means you have about four months to train Ash." Brock said.

"Why don't we stay in Blackthorn for a while then?" Luna asked. "There are some strong pokemon around here for you to battle."

"Hmmm, I guess so, but there are stronger pokemon around Mt. Silver." Ash said.

"Hey guys I'll be right back. I need to get supplies." Brock said.

"Alright." Ash said as he watched Brock leave. "Hey Luna, isn't this your hometown?" Ash asked.

"Yeah." Luna mumbled.

"I thought so, but when me and Brock went to explore we couldn't find anyone who seemed to know you." Ash said.

"Hmmm. Alright, do you want to know where my parents live?" Luna asked.

"Yeah." Ash replied quickly.

"Follow me." Luna said as she left the pokemon center with Ash quickly following with Pikachu right behind him. They walked west to the edge of Blackthorn City. Once there Ash saw a large mansion with golden walls and seemed to shine.

"Is this where you live?" Ash asked surprised.

"No Ash, behind you." Luna said depressed. Ash turned around to see a wooden house that seemed to be in bad condition.

"Oh." Ash said. Luna then walked into the house, and released her Dragonair, who evolved around the time they got to Olivine City.

(Thank you. You finally released me again.) Dragonair thought as she twirled around Luna.

"Do all Dragonairs act like that?" Ash asked after following Luna inside.

"No, why Ash?" Luna replied.

"That's exactly how Lance's acted." Ash said confused. Luna and Dragonair froze for a second.

(Now what?) Luna thought very nervously.

(I don't know.) Dragonair thought frantically.

"Well well, look who finally came back." A man said. He had brown eyes and short brown hair. He had on blue jeans and a brown shirt with a brown, loose jacket over it.

"Hello." Luna simply replied.

"Umm, do you know him Luna?" Ash asked.

"Ash, meet my father. Father meet Ash." Luna said.

"Hello. Nice to meet you." Ash said.

"What all have you done to my girl?" He asked.

"Huh." Ash said with a confused look on his face.

"I said what have you done to my little girl?" He asked angerly.

"No..nothing." Ash replied.

"Father calm down." Luna instructed. The man then walked to a chair across the room. The room was covered with dust. Behind the chair where the man set there was a case full of about twenty trophies. The walls were covered with gold metals. The only furniture in the room was his chair and a musty old couch.

"Wow, That sure is a lot of trophies. " Ash said wide eyed.

"Don't even think about stealing them." He replied.

"I wasn't. I would rather earn them." Ash said.

"Is that a challenge?" The man said with a grin.

"Na..no." Ash replied with a startled look on his face. "Does he always act like this or did we come at a bad time?" Ash whispered to Luna.

"He's always like this." Luna replied sadly.

"So, Luna you've come back in time for the Dragon's Ball. Will you be in it this year?" Her father asked.

"I don't have anyone to go with." Luna said as she stared down at the ground. Ash looked at her deep in thought about what she had just said.

(I could take her.) Ash thought. (Wait, what am I thinking? Did I just think that?)

"What about him?" He asked as he pointed at Ash. Ash then jumped.

(Did he read my mind? Aaaah, another mind reader.) Ash thought. (Well, I could take her, but just as a friend.) Ash thought not realizing his face was turning a bright shade of red.

"Is something wrong, Ash?" Luna asked keeping her head toward the ground with her cheeks turning slightly red.

"No...nothing." Ash replied. "When is the Dragon's Ball?" Ash asked before thinking. (Wait did I just ask that? I'm in trouble.)

"Tomorrow." Luna's father said.

"This would only be the third year I couldn't go. It's not anything serious." Luna replied sadly.

"Everyone who ever wants to be a dragon master should attend this at least once in his or her life. That includes you to Luna. Maybe, you’re just not looking hard enough." Her father said.

(I already want to go with somebody, but he'll just refuse. He isn't a dancing person.) Luna thought as she glanced at Ash.

"I need to give you something Luna." Her father said as he held out two pokeballs. "Don't release them until after you leave the ball."

"What if I never go to it though?" Luna asked.

"Then never open them." He replied.

"Hey Luna can I talk to you outside?" Ash asked shakily.

"Huh," Luna replied confused. "Yeah." Luna then followed Ash outside. "What is it, Ash?" Luna asked a bit nervous.

"Umm, you can't open the pokeballs until you leave the Dragon's Ball, right." Ash said.

"Yeah." Luna replied nervously.

"Well," Ash said, (I hope this works.)" will you go with me?" Ash asked nervously.

(Did he just ask me to go?) Luna thought confused. She glanced at the window to see Pikachu and Dragonair looking out the window. (He did.) Luna then released a breath of relief. "I'd love to." Luna replied trying to hide her excitement. She then ran up to Ash and hugged him before thinking. "Thank you, thank you, thank you. This is the first time I've ever been able to go. Thank you." Luna said. Ash's face was as red as an apple.

"I take it your going." Luna's father said as he opened the door with a grin on face as he held up a camera.

"Yeah." Luna replied as she finally stepped away from Ash, not seeing the camera.

"I'm glad I got a picture of that." Her father said.

"WHAT!?" Ash and Luna yelled in unision. Both of their faces were bright red.

"Luna, can you stay at home for tonight. I need to give you something your mother once had. She wanted you to wear it at the Dragon's Ball the first time you went." He said. Luna then looked at Ash.

"Alright." Luna said sadly. (I would rather be staying at the pokemon center with Ash though.) Luna thought.

(Yay! You can go to the Dragon's Ball!) Dragonair thought.

(Yeah, I guess.) Luna thought still depressed at what her father had said.

"Luna, come with me." Her father said.

"Thanks Ash. You don't know what this means to me." Luna thought as she ran into the house. (To think I used to be a boy, Lance.) Luna thought. (I'm glad I had the curse lifted when I beat Mewtwo, otherwise I wouldn't be going now.) Luna then looked out the window to see Ash jumping all over the path happily. (So he didn't just ask me because of the pokemon, or did he?) Luna thought.

(Come on, we've been traveling with Ash now for about two months and you know he isn't like that.) Dragonair thought.

(Your right.) Luna thought as she felt like jumping around in happiness.

"Well, what do you think?" Her father asked as he held out a dress. It was a long blue dress. It had a white border at the bottom. She then looked at what she had on which was black wind pants and a black shirt with dragons on it.

"Different." Luna replied.

"Did you honestly intend to go in those?" He said as he pointed to her clothes.

"I guess I never thought about it." Luna said quietly.

"Well, try it on." He said.

"Not until I have to go to the Dragon's Ball." Luna said.

"Fine." He said as he hung it up in the closet. Luna then noticed that it was one of the few things that didn't have dust on it. She watched her father as he put a bag over it. (So he took care of it.) Luna thought.

"Can I call Ash?" Luna asked.

"So, that's his name." Her father said.

"Yeah." Luna replied.

"Didn't he just leave?" Her father asked.

"Yeah, but I need to know when and where to meet him." She replied.

"Alright, but make it quick." He said. Luna then went to the phone and noticed that it itself had been covered by dust. "Just hit the one with no dust on it." Luna then looked across the board and noticed a button with no dust on it. She then pressed it.

(I wonder why it didn't have any dust on it?) Luna thought. She then noticed Dragonair had gone to sleep on the couch. (Sleep peacefully.) She then saw Nurse Joy pick up the phone.

"Can I help you?" Nurse Joy asked.

"Yeah, is Ash there?" Luna asked.

"He just came in. One moment." Joy said. The screen then went black for a moment. Then when it came on Ash was in front of it.

"Luna!" Ash yelled absentmindedly.

"Ash, I need to make this quick. When and where should I meet you?" Luna asked.

"Have him meet you here at six." Her father said. Luna then looked at Ash.

"Alright." Ash agreed.

"See ya then." Luna said.

"See ya." Ash said. Luna then turned the phone off.

At six the next day Luna heard a knock at the door. She felt her heart seem to skip a beat. (Is that Ash?) She thought as she looked at herself in the mirror. She was wearing the dress her father had wanted her to. Her hair was falling around her like it always did.

"Come in." Luna heard her father answer the door.

(Is it, him?) Luna wondered.

"Ah Ash, Aren't you here to pick up Luna?" Her father asked.

"Yeah." Luna barely heard Ash reply. Ash had on a black tuxedo. He had his hair combed and didn't have his hat.

"Luna, Ash is here!" Her father yelled.

"Coming." Luna replied nervously. (I wonder what he'll think?) Luna thought as she walked into the room. "So what do you think?" Luna asked as she looked at Ash. Ash didn't reply, but her father grinned deep in thought. "Well, what do you think?" Luna asked again getting a little depressed after not getting any response. "Is it that bad?" Luna asked.

"No. You look great. " Ash replied stunned.

"Thanks." Luna mumbled. "Shall we go?"

"Yeah." Ash said as he took her arm.

(To bad I can't go.) Dragonair thought.

(I'm sorry, but I'll tell you about it later okay.) Luna thought.

(All right. I'm glad you can finally go at least.) Dragonair thought.

(Thanks.) Luna thought as Ash led her towards a large dome shaped building. As they neared the entrance they met someone at the door.

"Are you here for the Dragon's Ball?" He asked.

"Yes." Ash replied.

"Then please proceed." He said.

"That was weird." Luna said when they were out of hearing distance of the person.

"Yeah." Ash agreed. They then heard music up ahead. When they entered the room they saw Brock and Clair over in one corner. Brock then waved to them. They then went over to where they were. "Hey Brock." Ash said.

"Hey Ash." Brock said as he looked at Ash and Luna. "So you two finally hit it off."

"No, ummm." Luna defended.

"No." Ash also defended.

"Not what I see." Brock said. By now both Ash's and Luna's faces were red.

"What about you and Clair." Ash said.

"Yep. You see remember when she attacked us back on Mt. Silver the first time." Brock said.

"Yeah." Ash agreed.

"She said she was under control. She also asked me to stay with her and marry her!" Brock said as he started to jump around a bit.

"Brock!" Clair yelled.

"Sorry, I'm just to happy." Brock said. "Let's dance." Brock then grabbed Clair's arm and led her onto the dance floor. Brock had on a black tuxedo, and Clair had on a long, black dress.

"Do you want to dance?" Ash asked.

"Yeah." Luna replied happily. Ash then led Luna out onto the dance floor. Luna was looking into Ash's eyes. (I'm glad he actually asked me, otherwise I wouldn't be having such a good time right now.) Luna thought. After the dance they saw Misty and Gary come in. Brock flagged them down as well. (Cowards.) Luna thought. Gary had on similar to Brock and Ash. Misty had a short red dress.

"Hey, Ash. How did you get in here? You don't have a date, do you?" Misty said coldly. "If you noticed the is only for couples."

"What about you?" Ash replied.

"Yeah, I'm here with the new champion of Indigo Plateau, Gary." Misty bragged. "Who are you here with? I bet they're not as good as Gary." Gary simply smiled.

"He's here with me." Luna said.

"And just who are you?" Misty asked.

"Luna." Luna replied.

"You were right. Ash came with a loser." Gary said.

"She's not a loser!" Ash yelled.

"Oh yeah, I bet she couldn't battle her way out of a tin can." Gary said.

"She could too." Ash defended.

"Hey, calm down you two." Brock said as he stood up.

"Sorry Misty, but I'm not going to sit with losers." Gary said.

"I agree." Misty said as they both walked off.

"Thanks Ash." Luna said quietly.

"You’re welcome. He shouldn't insult you like that." Ash said. Brock and Clair then went for another dance.

"Hey, Ash I think I'll go for a walk. I don't think I want to stay in here as long as those two are here." Luna said.

"All right. I'll come with you. I don't want to stay either." Ash agreed. They then left and started to walk around the city. They stopped just south of the city where they rest for a few minutes.

"Thanks for taking me." Luna said.

"Sorry that they ruined it." Ash said.

"Don't worry about it. You didn't cause them to come." Luna said.

"Yeah." Ash said depressed. They then saw a black vortex appear in front of them.

"I'm going to get you dragon master." It said. Ash then pulled out his pokedex which he had with him somehow.

"Missingno. A genetic glitch." The pokedex said.

"What is that?" Ash asked.

"I don't know." Luna replied. The vortex then took a solid form as Lance.

"Do you recognize me dragon master?" It asked.

"How can this be?" Luna asked. (I need help. Dragonair if you can hear me then please come. I need your help!) Luna thought.

"Dragonair can't hear your thoughts dragon master. I've blocked you from being able to connect to any of your pokemon." It said. It then formed a fireball and threw it at them. Ash pushed Luna knocking them both out of the way.

(I have to use my powers, but Ash. What will he think? Do I have a choice?) Luna thought as she threw a dragon's rage at Lance. Lance used protect and blocked it. Lance then was struck by a bolt of lightning.

"Arrrg. What was that?" Lance looked at Ash whose hands were glowing yellow. "You fired that." Lance had a confused look.

"Yep." Ash said as lightning formed around him and he charged at Lance.

(How can Ash do that?) Luna thought. (Never mind.) Luna then started to glow. Lance used protect to block Ash's attack knocking him back. "Ash!" Luna yelled. (You'll pay.) Luna then took the form of phoenix and flew directly into Lance and going straight through him. As she turned to look at Lance she saw he was split in the middle with the black vortex in his split section. Lightning from all angles then started striking him destroying what was left. (It's over.) Luna then looked at Ash. "How did you do that?" Luna asked.

"Ummm, long story. How did you do what you did?" Ash asked.

"Never mind. You don't tell anyone then I won't." Luna said.

"Alright." Ash agreed.

"Thanks for helping. The last time I got into a fight like that my only help ran." Luna said.

"I couldn't just leave you here. I had to help somehow." Ash replied.

"Can we stop by my house. I want to get out of this dress." Luna said.

"All right. I'll go to the pokemon center. I want to get out of this.” Ash said. When they reached Luna's house Ash went to the pokemon center. Luna quietly changed and went left making sure not to wake her father. She returned Dragonair and took her other pokeballs. She then met Ash half way in between her house and the pokemon center. "Do you want to finish our night at the Dragon's Ball? We can't let Gary and Misty ruin it for us right." Ash said.

"Your right." Luna said. "We're going to be the weirdest people there."

"Why?" Ash asked.

"Ash, we are wearing normal clothes. Everyone else is dressed up." Luna pointed out.

"Oh. Does it really matter?" Ash asked.

"I guess not. Thanks again." Luna said.

"For what?" Ash asked.

"For everything." Luna replied. Ash and Lance then walked slowly side by side in the moonlight towards the dome-like building.

Hope you liked it. Disclaimer: I own nothing except maybe Luna. That's it. I wasn't intending to be adding on to my story, but my Mew, Kit, forced ideas into my head so I typed them. This should be finished now, unless Kit gives me any more ideas. Gotta Catch Ya Later.
