Chapter 2
Yuugi struggled, but Spellbinding Circle held fast. After another moment the Black Magician moved his staff and it came undone.
Yuugi fell to his knees, gasping for breath. “Can’t you see what’s happening to you, Yami?”
Yami frowned, as he looked at his Black Magician. “I see nothing wrong.”
“He’s-he is possessing you, Yami! You have to get rid of him!”
Get… rid of him?
How would he ever be able to duel without his Black Magician? In every duel so far, he had always relied on his favorite monster to help him, and now…
Now Yuugi was telling him to get rid of it? No!
“Never.” Yami hissed, and to Yuugi’s surprise, he saw the Sennen Eye glow on Yami’s forehead even as the Puzzle pulsed around them. “How dare you suggest such a thing, aibou?”
It was too late, Yuugi realized. Black Magician had already corrupted the Pharaoh. There was nothing to do but tear up the card before it could do any more damage!
He retreated, and Yami sighed, deciding that perhaps Yuugi had snapped back to normal. It was not long to last, for almost immediately, the Black Magician fell to his knees, clutching himself in agony. Yami rushed to his side, only to feel the same ripping pain echo through his soul.
What was happening…?
Before long, both of them had passed out.
Mahaado blinked his eyes open frowning. Looking down at himself, he noticed in surprise that his appearance had changed. He had not seen himself in this form for so long…
Yami lay nearby, still unconscious, but even as he lifted him up carefully, he noticed the changes – the most notable the lovely gold and black wings his son now boasted.
Mahaado gathered Yami into his lap, and waited for him to wake again.
Yami finally awoke, blinking tiredly. “Mewet?”
“Yes” Mahaado said in her soft voice, her masculine features shifting slightly, as heavy armor changed fully into sheer royal linen. The horns and sun disk on her forehead glowed brightly.
“Isis…”
“My precious Horus,” Mahaado held him close.
“I am so sorry, after all I did…”
“I will always protect you and love you.”
“I know…”
Yami relaxed into her embrace, and Mahaado smiled as she traced the threads of magic for them. Let Yuugi keep the puzzle for now.
The true power of the Pharaoh belonged in his heart…
Yuugi stared, aghast, as the Puzzle shattered, raining down amidst the scraps of what had once been the Black Magician Card.
Jounichi stared too. He had been only able to stare in mute shock, as Yuugi had ripped the Black Magician card to pieces. What was he thinking?
Wasn’t it his favorite card?
Now with the Puzzle broken, Jounichi feared for Yami as well… had Yuugi gone mad?
“Soon, a power will come – a power that purports to defeat the Gods of Egypt.” Mahaado’s lips curved up in a sneer. “They call it the power of Orichalcos, of Atlantis…”
Yami frowned, and Mahado shook her head.
“Still, it is not in our domain to pry, unless they invade our Realm.”
“I understand, Mother.”
For the Shadow Realm was the Realm of the Gods…and now that he was awakened to his power, what memory did he need?
Mother was a wonderful Magician, the best in Egypt – perhaps the world. She could spin traps at a finger flick, and her magic spells never failed.
But his strength lay more in the Monsters… in souls once lost, denied entry into Osiris’s sacred kingdom…
He would protect and care for the monsters now, for they were his citizens. And all that remained of his Egyptian Empire.
When DOOM came, no one was prepared, and they watched as duelists fell, one after another, to the Orichalcos.
Letting the leviathan raze the world would do more harm than good though…
Yami frowned, as he watched Yuugi collapse. Raphael laughed triumphantly. Even the purest heart could be swayed to the Orichalcos Seal and the darkness therein…
But Yami knew his heart already, and he knew that someone had to stop Doom and Dartz, so as Yuugi collapsed, he used their bond of blood to enter his once-hikari’s mind and take possession of his body.
It would not do to let resources go to waste.
Raphael was understandably surprised, but he laughed. It was the Nameless Pharaoh himself… and now, with the God Cards in his possession, it was a worthy stake.
Yami listened to his cries, and said nothing, for he needed no Gods.
The cards fell, and even as the Orichalcos shimmered in his hand, he knew better than to play it.
The magic of Egypt needed no such powers…
His mother appeared on the field in all her glory, and he smiled. For though he might need Orichalcos, now was not the time…
A smirk played about his lips as the Axe of Despair shimmered into being, changing her staff into a halberd… and boosting her attack points by another thousand points. Now, just in case… that Guardian Elma was in Defense Mode, but even so… he still had one trick up his sleeve.
“Black Spear of Black Magician! Activate!”
Mahaado’s smile was wicked as her halberd glowed green for a moment. Then she leapt forward to the attack, shattering Guardian Elma.
Raphael frowned, confused, until he noticed his life points rapidly dropping to zero. “What-?”
“Black Spear of Black Magician subtracts the difference from your monster’s Defense Points and my Black Magician’s Attack points, and it is all done to your Life points. You lose, Raphael!”
Mahaado smirked as Raphael fell to his knees.
Duel End.

I didn’t hate Raphael, only his smirky dub comments. But yeah… I heart Dark Magician, so…
