Ceandin found the Healing Den to be mostly welcoming – except for that cruel pine martin Ranko. She’d called him “weird” without any provocation. All h e was doing was sitting there…
Soon enough, copper-black Hitasuk – a true seamonster of a dragon, measuring forty feet long, found him and never once thought him weird. C’din found that tails were useful things, and with Hitasuk for moral support, never again cared that humans were scared of him for being different.
Salt, fresh, or bog, Hitasuk and C’din didn’t care, as long as it was water. They found VallenCove, and found it truly welcoming. Moeomth dwelt here, and the amphibious Twengith…
C’din and Hitasuk claimed a lake in VallenCove’s territory with a small island as their home. It was much better than where he lived before – but now he had a restless spirit. Hitasuk understood, so they traveled, teleporting to new places by envisioning open water and cloudless skies. When they tired of one world, they ‘flew’ to another, or went ‘home’ to Vallen’s Cove, where the others were more than happy to see them.
Even if C’din did have a tail.
