The Last Lap

His life’s passion, his calling was
the speed, beauty, power and grace
found every Sunday on wheels

His driving intense, aggressive
first place always his one, his only goal
when he was behind the wheel

The “Intimidator” epitomized racing
fight hard, push the limits to win Sunday
then be a good ol’ boy after the race

The greatest driver in his sport’s history
he died doing what he loved the most
fighting hard for position …on the last lap

(In memory of NASCAR legend
Dale Earnhardt who died Feb. 18, 2001
on the last lap of the Daytona 500)
