Shared Solitude |
A woman sits upon a rock overlooking the blue water lost in thoughts and dreams soaking in the surrounding beauty A man drives country roads admiring the passing scenery thoughts and dreams drift by like the soulful land surrounding him Miles upon miles separate them yet threads of fate and love ensure that neither is ever truly alone since they share thoughts and dreams Each has been alone their whole life no matter who was there with them always feeling something was missing they were still incomplete inside Now the reason for their loneliness is revealed in a fated encounter each has awaited their soul mate while enduring past shared solitude Although each is still alone physically their life’s threads have intertwined promising true future union will replace their present shared solitude Inspired by Maxfield Parrish's "Aquamarine2" Copyright © Shadowy Poet 2000 |
