After many attempts at a website, and endless hours of frustration because it just didn't "look right", I finally decided to just grab the bull by the horn and wing it. This web page is the result. I imagine I'll always be adding to it and deleting stuff, etc. etc. etc.Hopefully, there'll be stuff here that you like and you'll leave feeling that you've gotten something from my page. If not, then perhaps you'll just have to come back another time and try again! *Smile*
A Little About Me
I'm a 53 (almost) year old Granny with the most adorable grandson ever born. I live on the West Coast of Canada in a city named Surrey, British Columbia. It is a gorgeous province and in fact our license plates even read "Beautiful British Columbia".I work for a major Insurance Company and enjoy my job. I live each day to its fullest and enjoy laughter with family and friends. I was born in Amsterdam, Holland and when I was five we immigrated to Canada.I have lived in Surrey for most of my life, except for 8 years in the Cariboo (the interior of BC). I left there and moved back down to Surrey where I could be close to my son and his wife. I'm certainly glad I did because I was able to be present at the birth of my grandson which I will forever cherish. I've been in Surrey now for 3 years and wouldn't move anywhere else!
Hobbies & Interests
I enjoy sewing, reading, camping, working on the computer. I've been making attempts at this webpage building stuff for a few years now and I don't know if I'll ever master it, but I sure do learn a lot along the way. My interest is the computer. I am anxious to learn how to make my own graphics as I believe that to be a rewarding pastime. Rewarding not in a monetary way (although some people do make a good living at it) but for me it would be the satisfaction of actually being able to do them.
Family
I met my "significant other" on the internet in April of '98 and we are the happiest couple I know. We consider ourselves very lucky that our relationship is as great as it is, because a lot of internet relationships don't work out. I'm convinced that fate somehow connected us and that we were definitely meant to be. I have a wonderful son who is 33 and a delightful daughter-in-law who has just finished school to become a Unit Clerk and did very, very well. She maintained a 97% average throughout the course and has already been hired to work for one of the major hospitals in Surrey. And my pride and joy.....Brandon.......my grandson who is 28 months old. What a child! I always knew it would be great to have a grandchild...I just never knew how great! There have been some major health problems though in our family and they have not been easy to get through. As you go through the first few pages you’ll see what those health problems are. I have a lot that will be going on this website, recipes, handy hints to name but a few. So come back often! In the meantime, enjoy what I have so far and thanks for stopping by! |
