Oh, I have no doubt you're right. I like it only because it sets up a strong case of dramatic tension between two bitter foes, forced to unite against an even greater evil. I think the story-interplay between Kuon and Daigotsu could be truly memorable. Mind you, I can't help suddenly thinking of "The Odd Couple"...the big, brash, uncouth Kuon/Oscar, and the slight, trim and proper Daigotsu/Felix. Imagine the zany adventures they could have...the ultimate L5R "buddy" story!

I'd like to apologize for the Oracle of Jade, guys. That one is probably my fault. You all know that the Oracles are supposed to be balanced, but the Dragon of Jell-O never actually got around to creating an Oracle of Light. I actually was going to be the "good" Oracle, but the advice I gave was really terrible and I was not at all good at answering the questions that showed up in my email box in any kind of timely manner, so the Dragon of Jell-O made me the Dark Oracle of Jell-O instead. Now people ask me to staff their helpdesk and paint their house and rebuild Sunset Tower (friggen Dark Oracle of Earth hogged all the glory for that one, though).
I swear, if a Dragon ever asks you to be one of the Oracles of Light, don't accept unless you know you have enough time to answer the questions or you'll be stuck as a Dark Oracle and that's a real pain in the ass when people start asking you to find the mittens that their kittens lost or when they ask you to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.

Anyway... what Chisa saw me do was not cheat, but instead play poorly (rationalizing that I needed to get to 10G as quick as possible). I'm not crafty enough to cheat (I also have the reflexes of a dead ox).

The only time I've cheated was when I accidentally put 4 Corrupt Silver Mines and 2 Corrupt Iron Mines in a horde deck. :)

I heard that the Detroit Kotei was really poorly run. I don't know anything first hand and I'm not going to bother to check for myself, but I thought I'd take a few minutes to slander that Colson guy. I heard that he ran out of hookers before all the Shadowlands Horde players could be serviced and that there was no Jell-O at the tournament at all. What a shabby, shabby Kotei.
I also heard that the prize support did not include any lost souls at all and that the only prizes offered were composed of matter and energy and no eternal torment was available at all (other than the eternal torment offered by the official story prize).
Can anybody tell me if these accusations are true?

Bah. I never got kicked out of the kolat. Not being a mmber of this fictitous grouping of people which may once have existed, but definately doesn't now, I should know that, should such a grouping exist, and have a mailing list, there was a period of talk on it about how far said non-existant group should go to achieve their aims (ie: maho). Then the shadowed tower storyline started, and it was decided by the majority that they'd leave the crazy maho fun to the shadowed tower.
And certainly no-one's commented upon my occasional talk of an Obsidian Sect. Which could have been more of a possibility now that Ikoma Tsai is tainted should this said mythical "kolat" exist.
But of course, everyone knows that Shinjo killed all the Kolat (those that existed). And she's a Kami and so definately couldn't get anything wrong.

It definately looks like Daigotsu's in a bad way - but form the looks of things, he's only been injured by Iuchibahn. Probably with the Hanti sword, since Iuchibahn is, y'know, of the bloodline of the Hantei.
But even if Daigostu was killd, that doesn't nessecarily mean much - he's been killed before, and no doubt will be killed again.
This is why discussing the fate of shadowlands personalities is always confusing...

From Distant Turtle City, it's Moshi Mogai. He kept his battles with alcoholism secret from the producers. They signed him on for his shabby style and great hats.
From Shiro Matsu, it's Matsu Satomi. She's a happy little virgin from the Lion lands. Her brother poses for pictures holding severed heads. Watch out boys, she's a looker.
From the Iron Fortress of the Daidoji, it's Daidoji Rekai. She employs her own hairstylist, for herself, and her horse. Putting the 'priss' in 'prissy', wait'll she meets Satomi.
Fresh out of the Northern Provinces, it's Moto Chaozhu. All muscle ladies.Don't mind his boorish demeanor, or the grunting.
Dusted off from the Kyuden Ikoma, it's Ikoma Tsai. Don't pick on the fat kid. Trust us, it's not the real reason we love to hate him and we've not even started.
Last but not least, from somewhere deep in Dragon lands, it's Hitomi Vedau. Pay no mind to the yellow eyes. He's a sensitive sort prone to shrieking.
I don't know that it gets any better than this. Expect cameos from the inhabitants of the Shadowlands around the Citadel.

Well, Rich and Shawn seem to have been specializing in "Meh" endings and Deus Ex Machina recently. At least where curses and the Horde are concerned. The whole story with Chukandomo was a bit poor on the whole, and this Dark Oracle of Fire thing is absolutely ridiculous.
Chukandomo contained the cursed spirits of hundreds of Crane ancestors and they needed Naishi to summon the Crane ancestors why, again? The damn sword was surrounded by Lion, and not just any Lion, but Sodan-Senzo. If ANYONE should have been able to put the spirits back in the happy box, it should have been them. The ending would have looked more like this:

This whole Dark Oracle/Covenant thing? Retarded. Hochiu had possibly the WORST motivation for a Phoenix EVER. He was like Zorg from "The Fifth Element." "Destruction serving life/rebirth." How quaint.
I'm usually one to defend the story team, but this is just getting asinine.
It was like watching "The Matrix Reloaded," the dialogue was trite and the delivery was ham-fisted, but the fight scenes were cool and the ending left a lot to be desired.
