They danced to a tune of formulae more predictably encoded than an episode of "Pokemon" and called it drama. It was as empty as the victory it heralded. What once may have been an interesting conflict was made flat by the sheepish will of the crowd. As a Mantis I find the Muck Worm's portrayal just as cardboard as that of The Lady. Demonised? Yes. Yes, I would say that she was. Just as she has been on her few appearances since Kumiko arrived, since when she has become far more stupid and crass than she is described as in "Rokugan", as well as her previous actions dictated.

However, overblown language aside, congratulations to you. It's nice to see that Kumiko, with the aid of very little, managed to overcome the limitations of her birth and ascend to claim championship of the Mantis. It is a truly unique tale of triumph over all the odds, and you should cherish it for always. I should note that, as a card-carrying agent of NAUGHTIE, I am aware that, in the end, good triumphs over evil, and our underground lair explodes.
So, in short, back to the drawing board, in the hope that someone will heed the call of Evil next time round. You've been good sports, O Mantis, if not the unqualified successes NAUGHTIE would have hoped for in its black, black heart.

Hi kids.
This question popped up here first. I knew it would pop up somewhere sooner or later, so here's the answer:
Daigotsu may not be a Shadowlands card (and this is a good thing because having yoru Wind destroyed could get weird) but including him as your Wind means that your deck is AUTOMATICALLY CORRUPT.
As Shawn said when we were discussing the Daigotsu Wind: "Dark Lord. Not Light Lord. Not Grey Lord. D-A-R-K Lord."
There's quite a bit of difference between tossing a goblin or two into your deck and sending ambassadors directly to the Temple of the Ninth Kami for aid. 8)

I don't think it works like that. Waltzing into the lost city to spy on Daigotsu isn't going to work if you aren't at least tainted. Can you imagine what that would look like?

Chisa-chan, I think you hit the nail on the head here. The championship, seeing as how there's no Emperor currently to appoint a Champion, should be decided by a hot SWIMSUIT CONTEST! Imagine, the two of them facing off against each other on the beach, the Moshi shugenja using their air magic to blow their hair for that perfect "windswept" pose. Show all the other clans why "Now and forever, we are a great clan!"
I'm even tempted to go so far as to add a "topless kata" component to the contest, if only for the fact that it'll limit the number of other potential contenders. I'm thinking specifically of Grandmother Jukio here, as we all know the damage that could do should she throw in her bid for Champion....(shudder)
This actually raises two interesting questions:
1. Where's all the Tsuruchi women?
2. Where's all the Moshi women who are built like Moshi Wakiza? Was that part of Amaterasu's blessing?
