My real name is Shane!! Guess you could call me a rebel without a cause!! When mom told me she wanted to build a page for me and asked what kind of graphics, I said: "Confederate!!" My great-great-grandad was a flag bearer in the Confederate Army!! I'm proud of my heritage!! I'm also proud of my mom!! She didn't have a clue on how to use this computer when we first got it!! She called me her computer wiz!! Now she knows how to do things I don't have a clue about!! Guess I was a good teacher, huh? *LOL* My mom's the best!! Always there when I need her and my best friend!! I can talk to her about anything!! I'm a supervisor for a sign shop. I also have a wonderful girlfriend!!
Well here I am in school as a senior yet again. I had a lot to work through. I tried to be the man around the house when my dad left and that did a number on my head. My dad and I were very close until he left and things changed. I didn't see or speak to him for almost 3 years. Through it all my mom has been there. At first she held my hand but eventually she figured out it was better for me if she let me try and stand on my own. I'd like to say I've been a considerate son and returned her love as freely as it was given but I have been doing better lately. My mom met and married a great guy that showed me I was just a boy trying to be a man and to take my time cause life has enough responsibilities in store for me. He got me my first car and he made me respect it. He took charge and took us all to church and I guess when I saw him accept Christ I figured it was worth checking in to. I talked with our youth minister and I decided to accept Christ too. My step-Dad my younger brother and me were all baptisted on Easter Sunday. Kelley and I are no longer together. although we have remained friends. I am now seeing Nicole and we are taking things slow.
OK it's been a while....Kelley and I are back together and my life has changed big time! Around the first part of June I moved into my own apartment. My mom came over and helped me get everything clean and straight. I know this is hard for her because she calls me every morning to make sure I'm up *S* I go over after work a few times a week to eat with her and she lets me bring my dirty clothes home to wash. I bought a laundry basket and she left a message saying she hoped that didn't mean she was fired *L* Seems like everytime I turn around she has a little something for me to take home...a cheesecake...a pineapple cake....boxes of this and that she says she'll never use! She pages me every now and then to tell me she loves me and how proud she is of me. Don't get me wrong..I'm not complaining and she's not trying to smother me. I know she had me around for a long time and letting go is hard. I appreciate it. We've never been the mother-son with the umbilical cord still attached...she has taught me how to be independent and think for myself. I called the other day to ask her why she pages me to say she is proud of me and loves me and she said..."you know God doesn't promise the next breath we take and if something happens to you I want to know I said and did everything I could to let you know how much you mean to me and how much I love you and if something should happen to me, you will know all this too" Besides my full time job, I do some side jobs at a local mall, and work with a crew that sets up for the concerts. I am enjoying my independence, but it sure is a big change from being with my family. Oh and last but not least....I have a new baby brother! Mom gets all misty eyed and says he is a carbon copy of me and it's like having me back *S*
Kelley and I broke it off for good this time and several months later I met a wonderful lady!! She's the love of my life!! I know now what mom mean't when she said I'd know the one!! I'm hoping when I find the courage to ask she'll spend the rest of her life with me!!
My mom has gotten very creative on this thing! Check out the poem she wrote for me. While you're at it take a look at the background! She made it special for me!
