| A 'nom de plume,' (French for 'name of the pen,' roughly translated) or pseudonym is a name that some authors use instead of their own. Either they want to try out a new style, or they think they're flooding the market with their own name, or maybe they just want to surprise their fans with a little treasure hunt. Well, the easiest way to find out whether or not your author has an alter ego is to find a fan page, or write to their publisher. However, I know of a couple resources. For Romance novelists, try Romantic Notions. For Mystery writers, try Stop! You're Killing Me! Into Horror and Fantasy? Check out this site. Dean Koontz has a slew of titles you might not know about, too. If you're a Science Fiction fan like me, you might want to cast your tractor beam on this spot. |
