| What have we done so far this year? ~~We have spent a lot of time learning Girl Scout ways and traditions.~~ ~~We learned the Girl Scout Promise.~~ ~~We learned about the Girl Scout Law.~~ ~~We spent a lot of time learning about Juliet Gordon Low, the founder of Girl Scouting in the US.~~ ~~We celebrated Juliet Gordon Low's birthday with a party.~~ ~~We acted in small skit about Juliet Gordon Low.~~ ~~We all took speaking parts and participated in our Trail Mix Investiture/Rededication Ceremony.~~ ~~We earned money by selling calendars.~~ ~~We played Poor Kitty.~~ ~~We played Doggie, Doggie, Who has your bone?~~ ~~We ate S'mores.~~ ~~We learned about SWAPS~~ ~~We made Silver and Gold Friendship Ring SWAPS.~~ ~~We beaded Good Deed Beads.~~ ~~We beaded a Girl Scout Law lanyard.~~ ~~We learned and sang Make New Friends.~~ ~~We learned and sang The Brownie Smile Song.~~ ~~We learned and sang Yogi Bear.~~ ~~We learned and sang Baby Bumblebee.~~ ~~We sang Hurray for Daisy.~~ ~~We sang Juliet Gordon Low.~~ ~~We went on a tour of Applebee's and ate lunch.~~ ~~We earned money by selling nuts to friends and family.~~ ~~We earned some extra money by working at a booth to sell our nuts to the public.~~ ~~We distributed bags for food donations in the Boy Scout sponsored Scouting for Food Drive.~~ ~~We collected food and brought it to the food pantry for Scouting for Food.~~ ~~We participated in a variety show (many of us standing up on a stage in front of strangers for the very first time.~~ ~~We donated toys to Toys for Tots.~~ ~~We all ate a pizza dinner together.~~ ~~We went to a Christmas Tree Lighting and sang carols.~~ ~~We made a special handprint calendar to give as Christmas presents.~~ ~~We went to a SWAPS event with our service unit and created many different SWAPS.~~ ~~We learned the song Hermie the Worm.~~ ~~We learned a different version of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.~~ ~~We met and talked with Santa Claus when he came to our holiday party on a fire truck.~~ ~~We talked a lot about cookies!~~ ~~We talked a lot about safety!~~ ~~We talked a lot about goals!~~ ~~We talked even more about about cookies, safety, and goals!~~ ~~Then, we role-played what we learned regarding cookies and safety.~~ |
