This tutorial is written for PSP7 and AS and assumes you have a good
working knowledge of the PSP tools.
Any resemblence to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.
Supplies Needed
Paint Shop Pro and Animation Shop
VM Toolbox / Crystal Ball Filter - Available - Here
VM Natural / Sparkle - Available - Here
The Font I Used - Here - Broadway
Supplies - Here - Includes the PSP File and the text fill
I have no knowledge as to the origin of the tube in the PSP file. If it
belongs to you, please let me know so I can give you full credit for it.
1. Open the blue text fill in PSP and minimise until later.
Open the PSP file. Shift & D to duplicate it and close the original.
The PSP file consists of two layers. Layer 1 is the entire tube.
Layer 2 is just the dress so you can colourize it to any colour.
2. Image > Resize by 60% Bicubic Resample, All layers checked.
Click on layer 2 to make it active.
Colours > Colourize. You can make it any colour you like or
you can use the same settings as me :
3. Layers > Merge > Merge Visible.
Image > Canvas Size using these settings :
4. Layers > Duplicate. Image > Mirror.
Layers > Merge > Merge Visible. Re-name this layer Tube 1.
Layers > Duplicate twice. Re-name these copies Tubes 2 and 3.
Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow using these settings :
5. Layers > New Raster Layer. Name this layer Globe 1.
Layers > Arrange > Send To Bottom.
Floodfill this new layer with colour #000040.
Effects > PlugIn Filters > VM Toolbox > Crystal Ball using these settings :
6. Using your mover tool, position the globe so that it rests behind the dresses.
Effects > Blur > Soften.
Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow using the same settings as before.
7. Set your background colour to null and leave your foreground colour as it is.
Layers > New Raster Layer. Name this layer Text 1.
Click on your preset shapes tool and set the following configuration :
8. Draw an ellipse similar to this :
9. Keep your foreground colour as it is and set you background to pattern.
Locate the blue text fill you minimised earlier, scale - 100, angle - 0.
Slowly move your text tool over the vector circle you just created until
a bracket appears at the side of the letter A.
Add your text using the following settings :
10. Selections > Select None. Answer yes to the pop-up window.
Layers > Delete.
Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel.
Use the angled preset but change the depth to 3.
Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow.
Use the same settings as before but change the colour to #404040.
Layers > Duplicate twice. Re-name these copies Text 2 and 3.
11. Click on your Globe 1 layer to make it active.
Layers > Duplicate twice. Re-name these copies Globes 2 and 3.
Turn off the visibility on all layers except Globe 1.
Effects > PlugIn Filters > VM Natural Sparkle.
Use the default settings but change the size to 22 and the seed to 100.
12. Turn off the visibility on Globe 1 and click on Globe 2 to make it active.
Effects > PlugIn Filters > VM Natural Sparkle.
Use the default settings but change the size to 24 and the seed to 102.
13. Turn off the visibility on Globe 2 and click on Globe 3 to make it active.
Effects > PlugIn Filters > VM Natural Sparkle.
Use the default settings but change the size to 26 and the seed to 104.
Turn off the visibility on Globe 3.
14. Layers > New Raster Layer. Name this layer Bckg 1.
Floodfill this layer with white.
Layers > Arrange > Send To Bottom.
Layers > Duplicate twice. Re-name these copies Bckg 2 and 3.
Turn off the visibility on all 3 Bckg layers.
You should now have 3 copies each of Tube, Globe, Text
and Bckg. None of which are visible.
Nearly there now, just to make it up...lol.
15. Make visible Tube 1, Globe 1, Text 1 and Bckg 1.
Layers > Merge > Merge Visible.
Turn the visibility off on this merged layer.
16. Make visible Tube 2, Globe 2, Text 2 and Bckg 2.
Layers > Merge > Merge Visible.
Turn the visibility off on this merged layer.
17. Make visible Tube 3, Globe 3, Text 3 and Bckg 3.
Layers > Merge > Merge Visible.
18. Layers > View > All.
File > Save As > 1.psp.
19. Open your 1.psp file in Animation Shop.
Edit > Select All.
Animation > Frame Properties of 25.
20. Crop your image being careful not to get too close to any drop shadows.
Run your animation and save as a GIF and you're done...YAY!...lol.
