Supplies Needed

Paint Shop Pro
My PSP File - Here - For those who don't like following pixels...lol.
It's a PSP file of this tutorial up to step 8.
Just open it in PSP and continue from step 8. :o)

I got the idea for this tutorial from a children's shelf support.
I'm decorating at the moment and saw the support at a local
DIY store and couldn't resist it...lol.

1. Open a new blank canvas 400 width x 400 height.
Floodfill with white.
This seems like a large canvas but it gives us plenty
of room to work and we'll be cropping it later.
Layers > New Raster Layer.
You're painting the bear on a new layer so you can move
the position of it if you need to at any point.
We'll start at the bottom and work our way up.

2. Set your foreground to solid colour #907556.
Paint the legs as follows :

3. Using the same colour now paint the body :

4. Set your foreground to solid colour #9B0303.
Paint the bow :

5. Set your foreground back to #907556.
Paint the head as follows.
Use black for the eyes, nose and mouth.

6. Using colour #907556 paint the arms :

7. Layers > New Raster Layer.
We need the hearts on a separate layer
for the inner bevel we'll be using.
Using colour #C00000 paint the hearts :

Okay!...we've got the basic outline...lol.
This is where you do whatever you want with it now. :o)
I'll go through what I did to create the one above
but you can make it any colour you want and you
can add any text you want. Put your name in one
heart and your loved one's name in the other...lol.

8. In your layer palette, click on the bear layer to make it active.
Using your magic wand, click inside the nose to select.
Floodfill the selection with black.
Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel.
Use the Round Preset.
Selections > Select None.

9. Using your magic wand, click inside the muzzle.
Hold down the shift key on your keyboard and
click the magic wand inside both the inner ears aswell.
Floodfill these 3 selections with #CDA883.
Selections > Float.
Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout with these settings :

10. Selections > Select None.

11. Using your magic wand, click inside the body
of the bear. Hold down your shift key on your keyboard
and click the magic wand inside all the other sections
of the bear.
Floodfill all these selections with #BD9263.
Selections > Float.
Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout with these settings :

12. Selections > Select None.

13. Using your magic wand and the shift key again,
select all the sections of the bow.
Floodfill all these selections with #C00000.
Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel.
Use the round preset but change the depth to 1.

14. In your layer palette, click on the hearts layer to make it active.
Colour the hearts and add whatever text you'd like.

Selections > Select None.

15. In your layer palette, click on the white
background layer to make it active.
