This tutorial is written for PSP7 and assumes you have
a good working knowledge of the PSP tools.

Any resemblence to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.


Supplies Needed

Paint Shop Pro
Flaming Pear Melancholytron - Available Here
Flaming Pear Glitterato - Available Here
The Font I Used - Here - Drakon
The Zip File - Here - This contains the tube and the gold foil.


1. Open the tube in PSP. Shift & D to copy it and close the original.
Re-name the layer Midnight 1.

2. Image > Mirror.
Image > Canvas Size > 400 x 400, horizontally and vertically centered - both checked.
Image > Resize by 80% Bicubic Resample. All Layers - unchecked.

3. Layers > Duplicate.
Re-name this layer Tube and turn off the visibility.
Click on your Midnight 1 layer to make it active.

4. Effects > Plug In Filters > Flaming Pear > Melancholytron.
Use the default settings but change the shape to tall.

5. Layers > Duplicate.
Re-name this layer Midnight 2 and turn off the visibility.
Click on Midnight 1 layer to make it active.

6. Effects > Plug In Filters > Flaming Pear > Glitterato.
These are the settings I used:

7. Click on Midnight 2 to make it active.
Slide the opacity to anywhere between 40 and 50 on this layer.

8. Image > Resize by 130% Bicubic Resample. All Layers - Unchecked.
Using your mover tool, move it down slightly keeping her central.

9. Click on your Tube layer to make it active.
Using your mover tool, move it down to the bottom of your canvas
and slightly to the left to a position that you're happy with.

10. Layers > New Raster Layer.
Layers > Arrange > Send To Bottom.
Re-name this Bckg and Floodfill with black.

11. Layers > New Raster Layer.
Layers > Arrange > Bring To Top.
Re-name this Text.
Set your foreground to Null and your background to pattern.
Locate the gold foil, Scale - 100, Angle - 0.
Using your Text Tool, apply your text using these settings.

12. Effects > Sharpen > Sharpen.
Position your text wherever you like.
Selections > Select None.

13. Slide the opacity on this layer to about 45.
Layers > Duplicate.
Slide the opacity on this layer back up to 100.
Using your mover tool, move this copy of text down and to the left.
You can see my finished image above as a guide.

14. Layers > Merge > Merge All (Flatten).
Set your foreground to Pattern and locate the gold foil.
Set your background to Solid white.

15. Image > Add Border of 4.
Using your magic wand tool, Tolerance and Feather both set to 0, select the white border.
Floodfill the selection with the gold foil.
Effects > Sharpen > Sharpen.
Selections > Select None.

16. Image > Add Border of 10.
Using your magic wand tool, same settings, select the white border.
Effects > Plug In Filters > Flaming Pear > Glitterato using the same settings.
Selections > Select None.

17. Repeat Step 15.

18. Click on your Midnight Corner tube and Edit > Copy.
Click back on your main canvas and Edit > Paste As New Layer.
Effects > Sharpen > Sharpen.
Using your mover tool, position your corner in the top left of your canvas.

19. Layers > Duplicate. Image > Mirror.
Layers > Duplicate. Image > Flip.
Layer > Duplicate . Image > Mirror.

20. Layers > Merge > Merge All (Flatten).
Resize your image to a size you're happy with.
Save as a GIF and you're done!!!
