This tutorial is written for PSP7 and assumes you have a good
working knowledge of the PSP tools.
Any resemblence to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.
Supplies Needed
Paint Shop Pro
The Font I Used - Here - Bulletholz.
My Supplies - Here
This includes both the tube I used and my mask.
The tube is by the very talented Lyssa at Montage Menagerie.
Many thanks Lyssa for your kind permission to use your tubes.
1. Open the tube and mask in PSP. Minimise the mask for now.
Shift & D to duplicate the tube and close the original for future use.
Image > Resize by 60% Bicubic Resample, All layers - Checked.
Image > Canvas Size 400 width x 400 height,
Centre Image Horizontally and Vertically both checked.
2. Set your foreground to solid colour #00440A.
Set your background to solid colour #0CA121.
Set your foreground to gradient and use the following settings.
3. Layers > New Raster Layer.
Floodfill this new layer with the gradient.
4. Masks > New > From Image.
Settings as follows.
5. Masks > Delete.
Click on Yes to the pop-up window.
Layers > New Raster Layer.
Floodfill this new layer with solid white.
6. Set your foreground to solid colour #202020.
Set your background to solid colour #525951.
Using your text tool, add your text with these settings.
7. In your layer palette, click on the + sign next
to your vector text layer.
Right-click on your name and go to
Convert Text To Curves > As Character Shapes.
Click on the first letter in your layer palette.
Move it into the position you're wanting on your canvas.
Do the same for each of your letters in your name.
When you're happy with the positioning you can
go ahead and Layers > Convert To Raster Layer.
8. Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel as follows.
9. Colours > Adjust > Brightness/Contrast.
Brightness = 15. Contrast = 0.
10. Using your Magic Wand tool, click on the
canvas outside of your text.
Selections > Modify > Expand by 1.
In your layer palette, click on the white layer
beneath your text layer to make it active.
Hit delete on your keyboard once.
11. In your layer palette, click on the tube layer.
Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow
using these settings.
12. In your layer palette, click on your text layer.
Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow.
Use the same settings, changing the colour to #404040.
13. In your layer palette, click on your green swirl layer.
Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow.
Use the same settings, changing the colour to #202020.
14. Layers Merge > Merge Visible.
Click on your crop tool.
In your Tool Options Palette, click on Crop Settings.
Select Opaque Area - Current Layer = Checked.
Click on OK. Then click on Crop Image.
15. Layers > Merge > Merge All (Flatten).
Save as a JPG and you're done!
