This tutorial is written for PSP7 and AS and assumes you have a good
working knowledge of the PSP tools.

Any resemblence to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.


Supplies Needed

Paint Shop Pro and Animation Shop
VM Natural / Sparkle - Available - Here

I got the idea for this from a pendant my little girl has, I think it's so pretty.
I made the gem tube myself and then created the heart tube using it.
I've made the heart tube so that you can make this in any colour.


1. Open the tube. Shift & D to duplicate and close the original.
Image > Canvas Size. 400 width and 400 height.
Centre image horizontally and vertically both checked.
Using your mover tool, position the tube slightly up and to the right.

2. Colours > Colourize. You can make it any colour you like or
you can use the same settings as me :

3. Layers > Duplicate.
Image > Re-size using these settings :

4. Image > Mirror.
Using your mover tool, position at the bottom of the larger heart.
You can use my finished sig above as a guide.

5. Pick a colour from your newly colourized tube and set it
as your background colour. Set your foreground colour to null.
I used colour #FA9090 as my background colour.
Add your text using the following settings :

6. Using the centre nodes, rotate your text and position it.
Again, you can use my finished sig above as a guide.
Layers > Convert To Raster Layer.

7. Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel using these settings :

8. If you're happy with the positioning of everything, go ahead and
Layers > Merge > Merge Visible.
Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow using the following settings.
You'll have to change the colour of the dropshadow if
you're making yours a different colour to mine.

9. Edit > Copy.
Edit > Paste As New Image.
Close your original, you don't need that now.

10. Layers > Duplicate twice. Giving you 3 copies of tube.
Turn the visibility off on the 2 duplicated copies and click on
your 1st copy to make it active.

11. Effects > PlugIn Filters > VM Natural > Sparkle.
Use the default settnigs but change the size to 26 and the seed to 140.
Click on your 2nd copy to make it active.

12. Effects > PlugIn Filters > VM Natural > Sparkle.
Use the default settnigs but change the size to 24 and the seed to 142.
Click on your last copy to make it active.

13. Effects > PlugIn Filters > VM Natural > Sparkle.
Use the default settnigs but change the size to 25 and the seed to 144.

14. Layers > New Raster Layer.
Layers > Arrange > Send To Bottom.
Floodfill this new layer with white.
Layers Duplicate twice, giving you 3 copies in total.

15. Turn off the visibility on all your layers except one copy
each of tube and white background.
Layers > Merge > Merge Visible.
Turn the visibility off on this merged layer.

16. Make visible your next copies of tube and white background.
Layers > Merge > Merge Visible.
Turn the visiblity off on this merged layer.

17. Make visible your last copy of tube and white background.
Layers > Merge > Merge Visible.

18. Layers > View > All.
Save as 1.psp.

19. Open 1.psp in Animation Shop.
Edit > Select All.
Animation > Frame Properties of 25.
Run your animation and save as a GIF and you're done!
