Corky was part cocker spaniel and part dachsund. He had the little short dachsund legs and the long fur of a cocker spaniel. Sometimes he would trip over his own fur when he ran. He was the gentlest dog. After I was born, Corky thought I was his baby. He guarded me and protected me. Corky and I was emptied the pantry, sharing the food. We used to watch out the window together, waiting for my older sister to get home from school. He loved to go camping with the family. He loved everyone. At Christmas time, Corky would steal the candy canes off the Christmas tree. Corky and Puffy were the best of friends. They would play and chase each other. Corky died shortly before Thanksgiving in 1978. He died of liver failure. |
