Dive 14: | |||||||||||||||||||
Water temperature: 23°C Bottom time: 64 minutes Max. depth 64 ft. Mild current. Suddenly we were all back to the dive where you have to move your legs, search for life, explore the place. This dive site is famous for the giant manta and the huge schools of black striped salema. At the begining two sea lions were playing with us for about 10 minutes, making bubbles as we did, very nice, the wall was full of life. Viz. was not good, about 35-40 ft. no more blue water, it was murky. The place itself was very interesting, with many small caves, to explore, we saw four white tip sharks, a lot of stingrays, turtles, and 2 giant mantas (2 meters aprox) near surface. Also we entered in the middle of a large school of salema fish, great experience, you can't see anything but fishes all around you... then we stayed at a sandy plato, (40- 20 ft depth) full of sea stars, erizos, eels, barracudas, and lots of juvenile fishes, a very strange small navy blue/yellow dots moray (or serpent i wasn't able to identify it yet), a tiger snake eel, giant damiselfish matina (note that i identify this species on the boat, after diving). Nice dive for a cloudy day. i felt the water was so cold, but i think it was because of the acumulated lost of heat from the previous dives. |

Dive 15: | |||||||||||||||||||
Water temperature: 23°C Bottom time: 66 minutes Max. depth 64 ft. Mild current. Same location than the previous dive, nice place, sea lions at the begining, playing with us, this time i got my flashlight and was able to explore a lot of small caverns, trough the wall, i also saw a white tip shark, but he was deeper, i got closer to him and when i returned all the group was gone, i find the huge salema school, and then i located the boat anchor, and decided to stay alone, i saw barracudas, a lot of stingrays, blue striped snapper school, mexican goatfish, parrotfish, puffers, lots of juvenile fishes and almost at the end of the dive, i saw Franz, who was also lost, and then we saw very close to us a giant manta twice..., it was a nice way to finish the dive.... |
