The San Francisco 49ers entered the NFL in 1950. The team got its name from the surge of gold miners that entered San Fran in 1849. Get it? 1849....49ers...? Anyways, the first 49ers regular season game was against the Los Angeles Rams. LoL. The 49ers became known as the "Team Of The 80's" after winning 4 Super Bowl titles in the 10 year span. Since 1981, the 49ers have won 13 division titles, 5 conference championships, and 5 Super Bowl Championships. They were the first team to win 5 in NFL history. There current Quarter Back is Jeff Garcia, who is pictured at the right. |
