Christmas in Japan By Lynn Aoki I just want to send some christmas cheer To all you Dwellers far and near I live my life in a far off land Of Hi-tec toidy's and Fuji San! Christmas here, well it's not the same As it was years ago in my "hoose back hame" There are no chimney pots to clamber down It's all "high-rise"and a weird shade of brown I wonder how Santa delivers the gifts Does He land on the balcony,or ride on the lift? We have christmas trees with tinsel and baubles And we also have "quakes" where everything "wobbles" It's hard to find a "bird",that's a good size to stuff For a family of four, there's never enough As I stare in wonder at this pitiful dish I think to myself "maybe it's blowfish!" There's "shochoo"and "sake"&"homemade plum wine" That goes straight to you head in a very short time So I take things easy and drink a lot slower The last thing I need is a "stoatin'"hangover So before I get drunk,to All "Friends"far and near Can I say "MERRY CHRISTMAS" and "A HAPPY NEW YEAR!"....burp! Thank You Lynn!!! |
