This season has seen the Sharp Shooters promoted out the bottom division for the first time in 16 seasons, despite having been promoted before (Pitch Invasion scrapped the bottom league and moved everyone up regardless). It has been a long time, 111 games to be exact since we played outside of the bottom division, hence why the relief and joy at finally achieving our goal.

We finished the season with joint best GD for all 3 leagues, 3rd highest goals scored and 2nd best goals conceded, which in itself is an achievement. We broke 2 of our own records this season for goals scored and best goal difference. Not only have we had a good season all round, but also broken our records as well.

We picked up victories against Southend Galactico’s (our current record victory 20 -1), 5-Alive FC, Estuary FC, RBS Utd, which in my opinion is why we finished in 2nd place. The 3 -3 draw against D&B was also an important result as it meant they didn’t close any ground on us. Overall good performances against vital teams around us.

The ironic thing is that in the past we have scored more points, but only finished in 3rd or 4th, so its justice that we went up.

Anyway, well done lads on a well deserved promotion, next season it will only get tougher.
