SS 2 - The Growlers 10
13th June 2006
This week we played the Growlers in a game which was pivotal to our season.

The match started badly with us conceding 2 quick goals and we struggled to get on the pace of the game. The rest of the half was quite tight with Paul scoring a goal, but the whole team conceding 2 more goals to give us a 3 goal deficit at half time.

The 2nd half started in the same vain as the 1st, with us off the pace of the game and The Growlers playing the ball round us for fun. We had something of a collapse in the 2nd half, with our heads down, lack of marking and the opposition pouring forward. We managed to get a 2nd consolation goal from Andy, when one of his many shots went in.

Overall a good game and although we looked bad, the team we played was of a very good quality and played the ball around us. They made us look worse than we actually played. The Growlers should be promoted this season and I will be relieved when they are not in our division.
SS 7 - Metrows FC 11
27th June 2006
This week we played Metrows FC who had 4 players, no real goal keeper and looked terrible.

Alas, we played shocking, lost by 11 – 7 and played terribly. This was one our worst performances in 3 years and the best thing to say about it is nothing.

Onto next week in what could be our last game at Pitch Invasion.
SS 2 - ENSC 1
4th July 2006
This week we played ENSC, a team that have won all 6 of there games this season.

We started well and in the first 6 minutes and it resulted in both teams shooting from distance. We marked our men well and defended like we can when we all play at our best. The damage in this game was done in the middle 6 minute sin the first half, which we scored two critical goals after good link up play through out. The goals came from Paul and Tom. The rest of the half everyone played well and restricted ENSC to shots from there own half.

The 2nd half started jittery, with us conceding a sloppy goal and then soaking up lots of pressure. During this period they hit the bar twice and looked strong. After this we played strongly and stopped them from getting near our goal, making them shoot from their own half.

Overall we played superbly and was one of our best performances. If this is our last match at Pitch Invasion, what a way to go out………………

This season did not fulfil the entire potential of the Sharp Shooters squad, mainly due to inconsistency. We played well at times and disappointingly in others, to finish mid table, which I think our form deserved. Although we didn’t get promoted, we played well enough to finish mid table again and confirm ourselves as a good Championship side. This could be our last season at Pitch Invasion, as we may have new challenge shortly.
