Sharp Shooters v Global Estates |
SS 2 - Global 6 - 24th February 2004 |
This was a hard thought match, which hard good and bad points. This side are not a bad team and we should have given them a better game. At times our defending was brilliant and others it was, well, appalling. Global in the match went 5 - 0 up, before Paul and Tom scored 2 goals in quick succession. There was a superb free kick from Global, which went straight into the bottom corner. Overall it could have been better and we need improvement |

SS 4 - Global 0 - 7th September 2004 |
Sharp Shooters v Global Estates FC |
This was a crucial match against one of the better teams in the league. The match started tightly and at half time after strong defensive displays from both teams, it was only 0-0. Both teams had chances in the first half and probably should have scored. The 2nd half started well with Alex scoring a goal to break the deadlock, we then proceeded to score 3 more to finish with 4 goals (2 Alex, 2 Andy). We managed to keep our 2nd clean sheet in 4 weeks, mostly down to some superb saves from Dave, who should be player of the week. Apart from Dave’s agility, the shooting from Global was a contributory factor as to why they didn’t score. The match finished quite ugly with a couple of Globals players thinking that they were being treated badly, but we played well and deserved the victory. Overall this was an important victory on the first day of the season, we are now top of the table, lets hope we can keep this up. |

SS 3 - Global 2 26th Oct 2004 |
This match was a good match to start the season with, as it is a nice warm up. This was not an exciting match and at half time it was still nil – nil. Still no one had scored seven minutes into the 2nd half, at this point I thought it might finish goalless. The first goal came and it went to Global, a pin point free kick past Dave. Global then scored again to make it 2 – 0 with 8 minutes to go. At this point I think we decided to play as a team, with Alex scoring a quick goal to get us back in it. Andy then scored after a pass from James to equalise and I scored low into the bottom corner to win the match (that doesn’t happen too often). Overall a game we rescued 3 points from, onto next week against The Chronic. |

SS 3 - Global Estate 13 8th Feb 2005 |
This was a tough match tonight against a team that had not dropped a point all season All though they are a good team, they do not appear as good as the result would seem. The match started badly with them scoring a cheeky goal, after their striker lost his marker. The goals flew in after this and we ended up on a receiving end of a battering. The biggest problem during this match was our lack of defending (including me) and lack of confidence. At half time we were about 4 – 1 down and the 2nd half was when we collapsed. The goals during this game were scored by Paul (from his own half with his first touch), Me and Spanton. This was a match we deserved to lose as we played terrible. Overall this was the end of another season and I’m not sorry to see Global go up. |
