This week we played the Badgers in an important game, to see if we could follow up last weeks result.
The match started badly for us conceding an early-ish goal after some nice work from their attacker. The rest of the half was a scrappy affair with neither team really creating many chances. At half time we were only 1 goal down and were full of hope. The 2nd half started and for the first 5 minutes we played simple football, passing it around and looking superb, but unfortunately we could capitalise. After this point the Badgers started getting into the game more and more. We went two goals down with 10 minutes to go, after their attacker wasn’t closed down quick enough. Their third was a lob up pitch and me not being quick or good enough to stop it. It was an absolutely appalling piece of play by me. Overall good and bad points in the match, we know we can play around teams, we just need to do it for the whole game. |

This week we played The Badgers after our disheartening result last week and morale looked low. Andy again didn’t play, as has hurt his ankle and looks very painful.
Although we were against much better opponents than us, we started by working hard and conceded our trademark early goal. For most of the rest of the half we were solid, although did not create much upfront. We conceded another goal just before half time after Paul miss controlled it, to give a hammer blow to our chances of winning the match. The 2nd half started badly with 2 really early goals after Tom and I were caught with 2 3 on 2 attacks, but they finished clinically. We needed to try and get a goal so were forced to push up the pitch, which is why the 2 on 3’s occurred. The rest of the half was damage limitation and long balls into the corner. Overall another occasion which we were out classed by the opposition. Next week we play the White Lions, the only team we have beaten in 10 games. On a positive note we are save from relegation. |
