Today we got to meet with our Piper for the wedding and secured him for our wedding.
We are currently trying to find a reception hall to our liking and with in our budget. This weekend we are going to be looking at two places....wish us luck.
We have found our reception hall. We are going to be holding our reception at the Wilderness Dance Hall at Knotts Berry Farm. It is really cool, the inside is looks like a old time rustic saloon. Once we went inside Laura loved it and said this is us.
Laura and I went to the Scottish Heritage Center next to the Queen Mary in Long Beach. We had a blast hanging out and talking to gentleman who was working. He was very knowledgeable and gave us some great ideas that are traditional for Scottish weddings that we plan on incorporating into the wedding ceremony.
Today Laura went looking around at dresses to see what kind of new styles are out there. She went with her two best friends from her childhood, Joni, and Charlotte. They found some that are really nice and Laura feels that she has found her dress. The second dress that she tried on she feel in love with.
We went to the Scottish Festival at the Queen Mary today. Our main goal was to look at the different booths to find little details to add to our wedding. It was a blast and we had a lot of fun, but it was really hard to find all we were looking for cause things were spread all over the ship which was very confusing. So we are also going to the Scottish Festival when it comes to the Fairplex in Pomona in a few months. But at least Shawn was able to find the Guinness Booth, and Laura became an official kilt inspector with her new shirt.
Today we went to the renaissance fair to see if we could find some decortations that we want to add to you wedding theme. But also going to the fair is something that we love do every year.
Today we have received the letter from our church that we are now officially scheduled for our wedding date of January 14, 2006
Things have been really crazy these last two months. There has been a change in plans. The wedding date is the same but we are going to be moving to our new house. Due to situations beyond our control we were forced to buy a house a lot sooner then we planned. Our reception will be held at our new home in Lancaster and the wedding will also be held in a church near our new home. We will be moving into our home the first weekend in July. Once we get that done we will be back on track towards planning our Wedding.
Laura has finally ordered her dress and it is the one that she really wanted. We are moved in to our new home and getting things put together little by little. But do not fret our guest will not have to use boxes as tables we will have the house looking good for the cermony and reception. In keeping with the theme of our wedding the dress attire is going to be formally casual. Meaing the nicest causal wear you have.
Grooms party will be wearing black jeans and tux shirts and jackets and your best black felt hat.
Count down....8 more days until the big day.
We have made all final arrangements and now we are just doing the final last minute details, and getting the final head count. The weather even looks promising that it will be a real nice day.
