After the hull was completed, it was time to paint. I could have sanded forever to make the hull perfectly smooth... but I didn't. Lesson learned: Work neatly and you'll spend less time sanding later. First I sealed the wood with a few coats of epoxy, then I put a couple coats of primer on top of that. I elected to use water-based Latex exterior porch and patio paint from Home Depot. It was easy to apply and very inexpensive compared to marine paints. |
