Monument erected in 1883 after Matilda's death by their children, Jacob, George & William Sheffer and Mrs. Ruth Hopkins. A daughter, Rebecca who died one year after her father and a son, Leonard who died shortly after birth in 1835, are probably buried here also. No records exist for this early part of the cemetery.

Nicholas' original stone was broken off and found placed in between the pillars of the main monument. An "N" is engraved on the upper left corner and an "S" on the upper right corner. --1 Jul 2002 |

Wilmer, their son, is also buried here in the family plot.

Margaret's tombstone was broken off and half buried in over-grown grass. The cemetery has no record of Margaret's burial here other than this stone. It is very likely that her husband, Philip who died in 1847, is buried next to her. The marker below found proped up against a nearby tombstone; however, Henry's stone could not be located. --9 Jul 2002 |
