SST Swimmers Take Home Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals

1027 swimmers from 29 swim teams competed at July 28-29 ARPA State Swimming Championships Meet.   The Sheffield Swim Team swimmers took home EIGHT MEDALS! Mara Shirey and Trayle Roberson won gold for Girls 13-14 50 yard Freestyle and 100 Yard Freestyle respectively. Top 3 medalist are Ryan Claunch: Boys 8 & under 25 yard Breaststroke, bronze; Daniel Huang: Boys 9-10 50 yard Butterfly, bronze; Krystan Perry: Girls 11-12 100 yard IM, bronze, 50 yard Butterfly bronze; Trayle Roberson: Girls 13-14 50 yard Breaststroke, bronze; and, Mara Shirey: Girls 13-14 100 Yard Freestyle, silver.  Sheffield swimmers placed on top 10 were: Ryan Claunch, Boys 8 & Under 25 Yard Freestyle, 5th place, 50 Yard Freestyle, 6th place; Daniel Huang, Boys 9-10 50 Yard Freestyle, 8th place, 50 Yard Backstroke, 5th place; Krystan Perry, Girls 11-12 50 Yard Backstroke, 8th place; Trayle Roberson, Girls 13-14 100 Yard IM, 4th place; Mara Shirey, Girls 13-14 50 Yard Butterfly, 9th place; Alex Kassels, Girls 13-14 100 yard Freestyle, 5th place, 50 Yard Butterfly, 10th place; Dillon Hollis, Boys 13-14 50 Yard Backstroke, 9th place; Nick Lynch, Boys 15-18 100 Yard IM, 8th place, 50 Yard Backstroke, 9th place.  Everyone of the 22 Sheffield swimmer qualified for the ARPA State meet has improved time at the meet.
