Lance Green and the newly installed Ford 351 Windsor. Its equipped with a Demon billet machined 750cfm 4bbl, Weiand Stealth manifold, MSD electronic ignition, Aluminum roller rocker heads...dyno tested at about 475hp!
Transmission installation is real clean here. Its a Tremac TR-3550 5-speed. Note the explosion proof steel bell housing protecting the occupants from a catastrophic failure.
Some brief History:

The Shelby Daytona Coupe was the first car built using aerodynamics on a racing chassis design. It was also one of the first to use wind tunnel tests to reduce the drag of the car. Its roof was odd shaped, the rear end was chopped off and it had a movable wing on the rear. A triangulated subframe over the twin-parallel-tube frame to increase the torsional stiffness and a basic roll bar was added to increase chassis strength and safety. In 1965, Shelby's Coupes finally won the World GT Championship over the then dominating Ferrari team

This is a journal and pictoral review of my brother-in-law, Lance Green's kit car reproduction of this little known yet historically great race car and his love for the classics!

All aluminum GRIFFIN radiator installed ready for the fan installation. Also, note the aircraft quality body hangers ready to accept the nose section.
A work-in-progress project anybody would love coming home from work to tackle. Note the nose piece in the background.

Clean installation of the 15 gallon "FUEL SAFE" fuel cell that came with the kit. Its looking like a NASCAR racer now and safer than your daily driver. No fears of an explosion or harm to Lance here!
The rear-end is a "new" posi-trac 3.27:1 ratio that came out of a '96 T-Bird super coupe with shortened half-shafts.

Fuel pump is a
Holley 12-801-1 red-electric with an output of 97 GPH!

If you look close you will pick out the driveshaft. Its only 16" long and fits perfect. You will also notice the mounting points for the 5-point shoulder harneses. Nothing but first class here.
Side pipes and headers were sent out for "JET-HOT" ceramic coating at Specialized ceramic/powder coatings in Huntington Beach. Great price, great work as you can see.
Here's a look at Lance's CREW CHIEF.
Joe Lopez has been an enormous help.
Thanks Joe!
