| Winters have never been My favorite time of year Except for feasting in November And Decembers of good cheer Life's colors fade, and grey - Beauty's dressed in starkest white. Coldness puts the earth in slumber, And dark sorrow rules the night. Sun's rays like frozen shards - Each day is still as ice. Blizzards are stopped and melted, From hot scalding tears, and cries. Who said my husband's gone forever, That he suffers no more pain; That he won't come walking through that door, He'll never come home again!? My heart it mirrors winter - Shadowy greys and cold; One day runs into another, I'm quietly uncontrolled. Icy harsh and painful words That pain and illness rendered; Melted away like winter's snow - The tears and cries grew tender. Spring defeated Winter, And morning conquered sorrow; The sun shines warmly once more, Bright colors for tomorrow. Once again the love's restored As all hurts are forgiven. Sweet memories are cherished And makes each day worth livin'. Ramona |
