| My spiritual journey consciously began in the fall of 1967 at a little country, hanky-waving, hallelujah-shouting Nazarene church. I was sitting toward the back of the church, on the right hand side, as you faced the pulpit area. I don't remember the sermon shared by that dear servant of God. I don't remember what I was wearing, or with whom I was sitting. I don't know which day of the week it was. What I do know was Fall. What I do know is that the whole congregation disappeared, and the Light of God illumined my soul. It was as if a spotlight had shined upon my life, and I fell short of the glory of God. It didn't matter the abuse I had received at the hands of my father; nor did it matter the meanness of my brothers. My family did not stand in the spotlight with me. I stood alone before the Lord, and I was a sinner. I alone was responsible for my behavior and my choices. I do remember the hymn that was softly playing: I Surrender All -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ALL TO JESUS I SURRENDER ALL TO HIM I FREELY GIVE; I WILL EVER LOVE AND TRUST HIM, IN HIS PRESENCE DAILY LIVE. ####CHORUS: I SURRENDER ALL, I SURRENDER ALL; ALL TO THEE, MY BLESSED SAVIOUR, I SURRENDER ALL.
