ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Sheree Gillcrist was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada in 1955. she began writing at a young age and this, her first book of poetry, is just a very small taste of what she has to offer. It is merely an indication of the depth of her talent in this, her chosen field.
Sheree has featured on CBC radio and TV for many years and her work can be found in the annals of the Saint John Evening Times Globe newspaper where she wrote many articles on life in Canada. Her poetry is also featured here.
One of her poems 'Spirit of the Rocking Chair' won a National Poetry competition and is featured, along with three other samples of her work, in 'From The Hearts Of Canadians'. These compositions are also featured in 'Wandering Spirits and Restless Hearts'.
Sheree also had two winning submissions in the Stephen Leacock International Poetry Competition in 1997 and 1998. Both of these entries are featured in this book as is the second placed entry in the 1st International Internet Poetry Competition run by Robert Zenith in 1998.
Her work can also be found in anthologies of literature that are stored in The American Library of Congress, Washington DC USA and in The National Library, Ottawa, Canada.
These compositions 'Lessons in Light' and 'Branches' are also featured in 'Wandering Spirits and Restless Hearts'.
She has collaborated on song lyrics with Canadian band Tanglefoot and reviews music from a host of artistes for 'The Canadian Bulletin'.
