Dedicated to You
By: SheridanCraneFitzgerald@hotmail.com

I write so often of you
That sometimes I get mad
When I put my pen to paper
And the poems turn out bad.

It's not because they lack meaning,
Truth, and even beauty;
It's because I've written of everything
I think and feel when you're with me.

I sometimes write for inspiration
To get my juices flowing,
Starting out aimlessly,
Not knowing where I'm going.

And then I turn anew
To a course of love,
And confess shamelessly
That you're all I'm thinking of.

I may have written hundreds --
Thousands of poem for you;
So it's no surprise that I
Haven't anything new.

They're all written for you,
But never reveal that fact;
No names or indication --
In that area, they lack.

So while I'm writing this,
Starting fresh and new,
I'll take a different path:
I dedicate this poem to you.
