Forgot to Forget
By: SheridanCraneFitzgerald@hotmail.com

I forgot to forget you
When I said that I would.
I didn't know I was lying
When I claimed that I could.
Whenever I'd remember,
I'd think about you,
And, forgetting to forget,
Recall all that you'd do.
The way your eyes laugh,
Your knowing little smile,
How just a second with you
Was always worth my while.
Your gentle little touch,
And the way you always kiss
To bring me to the pinnacle
Of complete and utter bliss.
I forgot to forget you,
And now I feel bereft --
For I've been thinking of you
Since the day you left.
