Melancholy Dreams
By: SheridanCraneFitzgerald@hotmail.com

Sweet, melancholy dreams.
I'll wake up puffy-eyed,
With tear stains on my cheeks,
And I'll sigh.

Obscured by pending dark;
Shadows lurk behind
Every thought that comes forth,
In every corner of my mind.

Sweet, melancholy sighs;
I'll expell and inhale,
And breathe ever-slowly,
Until my voice goes stale.

Releasing my sighs
In a puff of white air
Against the frigid night,
And inhaling the same share.

Sweet, melancholy hope,
For you by my side,
With a wistful smile,
But the hope has died.

Searching for you
With bright-eyed delight
Until the darkness
Takes over the light.

Sweet, melancholy dreams...
I'll wake up puffy-eyed,
With tear stains on my cheeks,
And I'll sigh.
