War
By: WindofSpirits@yahoo.com

Explosions sounding.
Buildings crumble.
Aircraft rounding --
Feel the ground rumble.

Mothers crying.
Sons gone off to war.
Fathers imprisoned,
Bitter to the core.

Young ones drafted.
Old ones left sheltered.
Weapons are crafted.
Plants are withered.

Your own home,
Now no more.
Your best friend,
Gone off to war.

Children crying,
Taking shelter.
No sound of singing --
Only of terror.

Two days past.
Five-hundred gone.
Two months past.
Numbers are gone.

How long will terror last?
How long till peace is here?
How many more shall live until this is past?
How many more shall die in fear?

The war is over:
Graves remain.
Over these, clouds hover,
Watering flowers with rain.

The poor souls who died.
The poor people who lived.
War leaves people to cry
For those that once lived.
