Heartbeat of a Family
By: SheridanCraneFitzgerald@hotmail.com

Drumming in my ears --
The heartbeat of a family.
Something that I never knew,
That you can hardly see.
I can't fathom your distress,
Only see it through your eyes.
Hide behind the suffering,
Wearing your disguise.
Standing back, the stranger,
Still drawing close to you.
Trying to fit in with
What I never knew.
Begging for sincerity
To know what I do wrong,
Though heaven only knows
Why it took so long.
Tender loving care
I only prayed I'd know,
Now on the receiving end,
Praying it won't go...
Drumming in my ears --
The heartbeat of a family.
Something I'm now blessed to know,
That they can hardly see.
