Welcome to my Family Medicine Residency page!! |
In July of 2006 I began my 'R1' year at McMaster University in Family Medicine. My home-base practice is in a very small town (less than 1000 ppl) called 'Carlisle'. I absolutely love it here! I drive thru farms and sun-flower fields (hence this cute background ;0) to get here. In July of 2007, I began my FINAL (!!) 'R2' year (by doing rural medicine up in Yellowknife, no less!). PTL for surviving crazy call and internship last year! I plan to call BC my 'homebase' in 2008. |

(a few) Things I'm passionate about... Sudanese Physician Reintegration Project** This truly captures my heart. Read more on CMDS' website! CMDS Residents, email me! Christian Medical Dental Society (CMDS) What can I say? SOOOO hugely important for SOOO many reasons! Seeking to honour God in my daily vocational calling and praying for His Spirit and power to minister and bring healing and liberty of soul and body in every dynamic interaction. I'm currently the Resident Rep on the Exec Committee. Marketplace Ministry (MM)**** In Oct of 2006, I had the amazing opportunity to attend the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelism 'Younger Leaders Gathering (YLG)' in Malaysia. Picture 550 young (25-35 y.o.), fervent church/ministry/marketplace leaders coming together from all over the world to worship God and be invested in and trained! It was tremendous! Thank you! I am currently trying to learn and read as much as I can about Marketplace Ministry (MM) as I continue to pray that God will cause a revolution by changing our paradigms about work and ministry. "Are some people called into 'full-time ministry'? There is no part-time ministry option available" (R. Paul Stevens). Yes, there is a 1st Great Comission and a 'Theology of Work' and No, there should be no difference between ANY Christian... I believe we are ALL called to be full time missionaries 'in-country' or overseas. Further, I believe that by working, creating, taking care of children, doing laundry, painting, evangelising, we are ALL, with the rightness of heart and focus of mission, glorifying God and 'doing ministry!! Some useful links: Lausanne's paper on MM, Regent College's Marketplace Institute, YWAM's MM page, Bakke University (Brad Smith: Business as Mission), Business as Mission Network. |
