School Relates With Responsibilities

College life is basically living with responsibilities. Goals, behavior, and positive attitudes are necessary for academic success. Goals push many college students to have confidence towards success. Having a good behavior while in college can be stress-free. Respecting other students and professors shows maturity in college such as showing up and not interrupting class. A positive attitude lets many students accomplish many things without anyone or anything to hold them back.

The most challenging course that I am taking this semester is HLT 215. It is a Stress Management class that has many terms to memorize. I have problems memorizing words that are new to me. The professor that teaches the class is a registered nurse, so she lectures highly, meaning, people who already have a degree in college. I prefer watching presentations and doing projects, but instead she only lectured and passed out worksheets. Having a study buddy would help me learn this challenging subject more easily because I can learn better by working with another student.

I am new in college, and it is way different from high school. College has more opportunities and responsibilities. At high school, students had to take all subjects to go up a grade, but in college, a student just takes what he/she is interested in. There is tuition at college that needs to be paid every semester to attend. High school was a free education that was optional for students who wanted to learn and make it to a higher level education. In college, a student can pick their own classes and times when they want to take them. High school has time limits and procedures that students have to go by, sort of like controlling their actions. I was greatly tempted to abandon one of my important values. The important value was school. However, I know having a degree would push me towards a wealthy, successful life. Time is the answer and hard work pays off. I kept a commitment to myself that was very difficult to keep. My commitment is to stay in school no matter what happens. Staying focused is hard to do, but in the back of my mind, I just think about how I will be a Computer Engineer one day, making money and supporting family and friends that were there through thick and thin with me.

I interviewed one of my adversities. Failing was the adversity that I interviewed. It is a challenge for me because I am scared to become a failure. I attempted to deal with failing in the past by learning from the mistake. Practice makes perfect, and no one is perfect. My emotions take over every time I think something is wrong. I always think negative thoughts when it comes to difficult situations. Using a wisdom chart helped me believe in myself, and also to go into a positive stage. The better choices I make, the better my life would be.

Life is all about choices. Only I have control over decisions and actions. I always thought life had to be hard; now I see that my life is only as hard as I choose it to be. I can only change me, and being a college student creates more hard work and choices whether or not to overcome procrastination.
