S.H.I.E.L.D. Central

SHIELD Central Monitoring Suite

Located within the lowest levels of Stargate Command HQ inside the Cheyenne Mountain Complex, SHIELD Central is the agency's Primary Command and Control and Global Monitoring Centre. Intelligence reports and data gathered by all SG teams passes through here to be interpreted, analysed and finally disseminated throughout the SGC and to the few external organisations which are aware of the SGC's existence. SHIELD Central's computer systems include duplicates of those aboard the Helicarrier, as a safeguard in the event that either system is lost or rendered inoperative, but with additional 'hardwired' links to the SGC mainframe, a secondary pulse-wave uplink to the Tokra and a datachannel link to the Asgard, both provided and maintained via Tollen transmitter technology.

At the heart of the complex is the vast C&C area, which houses all SHIELD's primary mission monitoring assets and from where the operations of the agency are controlled. Field assignments - from combat missions to Helicarrier operations - are monitored and controlled from here and the facility also maintains a 24hr state of alert, ready to assist and support of all other SGC operations. A staff of analysts review all incoming intelligence as it is received and maintain a constantly updated situation report and overview which all command-level officers can access via the SGC intranet, along with a daily analysis and evaluation report which is presented to the Base Commanders on a daily basis.

SHIELD Central Simulator Room

In addition to the operational elements, SHIELD Central is also home to the agency's training and research and development divisions, which occupy an extensive suite of offices, laboratories and lecture theatres within the complex. Members of SHIELD have access to some of the most advanced training methods available and are actively encouraged to take every opportunity to improve their skills and knowledge.
