This picture was chosen for its festive colors and for reminding me of a very special Chinese New Year's Eve Party during my 4-month voyage around the world - on a Greek ship named Aegean I.      The traditional celebration involves dressing up, having a feast, and welcoming the new year with firecrackers.  We had everything but the firecrackers because of the potential fire hazard.  So, being creative travelers, we popped balloons at midnight instead.

While I prefer traveling indepedently, I enjoyed my whirlwind camping trip in Europe with Contiki, and the indepth cultural exchange programs with the Fulbright Association and VIA in Mexico and Taiwan, respectively.      Also, check out my travel article on Hawaii in Moondance E-zine.
