As of May 30, 2004 the biweekly hikes that were started March 2, 2003 as a group effort (when our leader could no longer lead weekly hikes) have stopped. Perhaps if volunteer hike leaders can be found they will resume again. Check this page and the hike schedule page for future announcements.

A Singular Adventure

Non-smoking hikes and outdoor trips every Sunday except Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. September-May at 11:30 AM; June-August at 10:00 AM. To car pool, meet at the parking lot across Hillside Avenue from Willie's Tavern, Route 202, Bedminster, at second traffic light north of Route 287. Or you can just meet the group at the site of the hike. Hikers must bring water and be in good physical condition. A fee of $6 per hike is charged. For more information call 732-863-4909.

April 4: CHEESEQUAKE STATE PARK, OLD BRIDGE, LED BY E.T.

6-7 miles of level to rolling hills, through forests, fields, cedar swamps and marshland.

April 18: KEN LOCKWOOD GORGE, CALIFON, LED BY JAN

8.5 miles of level terrain on an old rail-trail and along a scenic trout stream.


May 2004

May 2: VAN CAMPENS GLEN, DELAWARE WATER GAP, LED BY E.T.

8 miles on a little used trail and back along a babbling brook.

May 16: WATCHUNG RESERVATION (FROM TRAILSIDE MUSEUM), MOUNTAINSIDE, LED BY LEONARD

7 miles of rolling hills, and rocky terrain through the deserted village and past Surprise Lake.




Instead of car-pooling from Willie's Tavern you may meet the group at the location of the hike.
