Chains, Runs, and Kennels |
CHAINS ARE VERY VERY WRONG! 10 things CHAINS CAN DO! 1. Kill it by breaking its neck when it runs at high speed to the end of the chain (Happened to my cousins dog Queenie) 2. Get wrapped around its neck and choke it 3. Get wrapped around its post and dehydrate the dog, even starve it to death, by not enabling it to get to its food/water. 4. Get you turned it for abuse 5. Make your dog overweight because of lack of excersize and too much food 6. Make your dog underweight because of constant outside stay 7. make your dog trapped in a grass fire, hurricane, tornado, etc 8. Make the dog agressive because of its confinment 9. Make the dog hyper because of excersize lack 10. Make the dog dig, chew, etc because of seperation anxiety The banner at the top of the page came from the Corgi Dog House, which you can visit by clicking on it. Alternatives to chains are RUNS- Also known as underground fences, they give a dog a slight shock if it steps outside a given boundry. It gives the dog a sense of freedom, while allowing you to set the limits for it. These also help to train dogs! KENNELS-My dogs are getting a kennel that is 30' by 30'. It will have one large tree in the center allowing shade, and a large houselike structure at the end of it allowing shelter. These can be bought or homeade, and can be put up against a building allowing for cheaper build. FENCES- Fencing yards allow a dog to run free and not get in the road. This however is costly if you have alot of land like I do, and makes for better in the city. |
