What happens if I beat the Storyteller? You won't. You shouldn't want to. He is working WITH you, not against. Why would I want a storyteller? The storyteller is an accessory, much like a picture on your handle. However, unlike a picture, the storyteller will do all he can to accentuate your characters merits and flaws to make sure that the story is as interesting as possible. Who is the storyteller? Though it shouldn't matter, and in all actuality, it WON'T matter, right now the only storyteller is Thomas, aka 'dragon'. How do I get involved? The cleanest and simplest way, is to come into the room and watch for a spell, decide if you WANT to get involved, and then speak to the storyteller. Email your character idea(s) to thomas3@goplay.com. What sort of character should I make? The sort is up to you. In this case, basics are best. Recomended are humans of a generic class. (fighter, rogue, wizard, etc) The simpler the better. (note: simpler does not refer to the personality of the character.) The hope is that the character will grow along with the story. What if I'm new to this stuff? Then you will have help. You need only know your own character, which you made up, and stick to what that character would and could do. This is all old hat to me, what benefits will I get? Prior experience. I ask that all enter the story on about the same level. To be frank, I don't care if I know you. I don't like the way the story's going, what can I do? Your character is the major moving force in the storyline. Everything reacts to their actions. If something isn't going your way, your character might decide to start doing things differently. (If you are seriously having issues, I request that you email me with your complaint before giving up. You may merely have to be patient.) How will it end? Not even I know. The world is created, the story is being written. The characters' actions will decide their fate. Can I have more than one character? Not recomended. Where's Jason? Doing his own thing. He, nor any of his people, will have any contact with this story. |

Happy New Year! |
This storyline is probably a bit different from that which you've experienced before. Not only is there a storyteller, but there is a plot. Where many roleplays are based around a few (or one) person setting up a theme and then bringing a multitude of others into the fray, this will go from the other direction. A setting is put into place, and characters are put into the scene. Their actions and dialogue are what create the story, while the storyteller amplifies and organizes. This allows for foreshadowing, plotlines, twists, and yes...endings. To best bring this about, the roleplay is divided into segments. Chronicle: the chronicle is the whole shebang. Story: each story has a beginning, middle, and end. Though it may not be THE end, between stories is the best time to have characters come or go without losing the actual plot. These can last from a week, to a month, perhaps more. Session: a session is the space of time in which the storyteller is actually in the room. Generally two hour segments. This first session is called: The Silent Sanctuary. |

I'm trying very hard to have a place here for you to automatically submit questions to my email, perhaps anonymously. Obviously, I haven't figured it out, yet. |
