Jack receives the Centenary Award for talking for 100 years non-stop!
Jack Asher
If anybody is Mr Glasgow University it has to be the one and only Jack Asher (left).  A stalwart of the team in the 50s, Jack is still around doling out advice and supporting the mighty Gold and Blacks.  Life president, referee, stuntdriver and supporter, Jack is part of the intriguing landscape of Shinty in Glasgow. Even after he stopped playing himself, he provided us with son Gordie, who was a great servant to the club in the 90s.   Just remember to have a full stomach before you strike up conversation, you may be there for a long time...
Chris "Wilson" Wilson
The Man, the Beast, the Legend.  Louder than an atomic bomb at a rock concert (or his own taste in shirts for that matter). Now sunning himself on the Costa del Crime,  the Kilmallie Klos was the Jedi-like Custodian for the Gold and Blacks in the glory run of the 2002-03 season.  Any defender who made a mistake was more than likely to receive an earful from Wilson.  In fact everybody was likely to receive pelters from him.

Anne is also captain of the Common's ladies team.  Anne Widdecombe is a fierce full back by all accounts.
Anne McGuire
In 1997, Anne McGuire was the toast of Scotland when she gubbed Michael Forsyth in the General Election and became MP for Stirling.  Her son Paul wore the Gold and Black at the time, and as a reward she was made an Honorary Vice President of the Shinty Club.  Nowadays, Paul plays bagpipes for the Vatersay boys and Anne is still an MP. She even mentioned Glasgow University Shinty Club in her maiden speech to the house. Just click on the photo of Anne to see Glasgow Uni's entrance into Hansard, the official parliamentary record..  She is also willing to clean the strips and make tea.  What a public servant!
