“Hahaha! Got you!!” sniggered a cheeky Kiiro Bom, who took off his monster mask and fell on the floor, rolling about laughing.
Aka Bom was outraged, and battered his head in with a huge mallet,
“Oww!!” yelled Kiiro Bom and lied motionless on the living room floor of the lab, with dazed eyes and birds fluttering around his head.
“NEVER DO THAT TO ME EVER AGAIN!!” shouted Aka Bom, pointing her mallet at the passed out Kiiro.
The enraged girl sat down on the sofa to try and calm her self down,
“I hate practical jokes! That Kiiro Bom gets out of line sometimes!” the steamed Aka crossed her arms while Pi-Po tried to comfort her, “Bi-bo! Bi?”
Kiiro Bom recovered from his unconsciousness and began to get back up on his feet,
“Ow~That hurt! It was just a joke Aka Bom! Come on!”
“It wasn’t funny! What you did was mean!”
“You don’t have a very good sense of humour, do you Aka?”
Ao Bom entered the room and had heard what was going on,
“Kiiro Bom! You shouldn’t have done that to Aka! That wasn’t humorous…”
“Oh, who asked you?” Kiiro said moodily while approaching the kitchen.
Shiro Bom was sitting on the sofa next to Aka and was silent.
“Come on Aka Bom. Cheer up! Let’s go and do something to take your mind off that incident.” eased Ao Bom.
“Oh, okay. What should we do?”
“Um…we can go and play baseball,” suggested Ao.
“I wanna do something different for change. Oh, I know! How about we go to that new mall in the city that opened yesterday? It’ll be lots of fun!”
“I heard a company was going to shoot a movie at the mall, and they are going to pick people to star in the movie…” informed Ao Bom.
Kiiro poked his head out from the kitchen with cake crumbs all over his face,
“Did you say movie? At the mall? And they’re picking people to star in it?”
“Yeah, that’s what I said. Okay, so let’s go Aka!”
“Fine. But no Kiiro Bom is coming along with us!” resented Aka, who had not calmed down yet.
Kiiro neared the red girl and went down on his knees, begging to go with them,
“Please let me come! I’m really sorry for what I did, and I promise I’ll never make practical jokes on you again!”
Aka Bom still had a grudge on him,
“Well…”
“Okay, I won’t embarrass you at the mall and I’ll carry all the stuff you buy when you’re shopping!”
“Hmmm, okay. I’ll let you come with us!” agreed Aka Bom who had forgiven Kiiro now. Shiro Bom remained silent on the sofa.
“Lui lui!!” Rui Rui jumped into Aka’s arms.
“Oh, you wanna come too, Rui Rui?” smiled Aka.
She noticed Shiro Bom still sitting, and not saying a word.
“Come on Shiro Bom! Get off that sofa and come with us to the mall!”
“Shh…I’m about to get the highest score!” Shiro finally spoke.
He was clutching a portable game console in hands, his eyes glued to the small screen.
“You can play Tetris on that Gameboy Advance any day!” urged Ao Bom, tugging Shiro’s arm.
A ‘Game Over’ tune was playing indicating the end of the round.
“Aw, look what you did! You made me lose the game!” moaned Shiro, as he put the console on the table.
“I might as well come to the mall guys then.” he sighed.
“We’re gonna have fun! So lighten up!” said Aka while walking out of the lab with Rui Rui and Pi-Po following her.
The gang arrived at the huge mall that had numerous stores of different varieties and they were walking while admiring the stores.
Kiiro was looking all around him, but there was no movie crew present.
“Let’s all go to the stores that we want to go individually and then meet up at the mall centre after one hour, okay?” suggested Aka Bom.
“Yeah, okay,” agreed Ao, Shiro and Kiiro.
So then they each went to their chosen stores, going in different directions.
Aka Bom’s first destination was a flower shop, and she was browsing all the varied and pretty flowers there.
“Bi bo!!” said Pi-Po while picking up a beautiful red rose and sniffing the sweet scent of it.
“Lui lui” said Rui Rui in agreement while he sniffed some other flowers.
“What beautiful flowers! I’m going to buy some to place at the lab!” thought Aka Bom as she gently picked up a pot of flowers.
Sixty minutes later, the Bom gang gathered together at the city centre and discussing what each of them bought.
Aka Bom placed a huge pile of shopping bags on the floor,
“Kiiro Bom, you’re going to carry all that stuff back home! You said so!”
“What!?? I can’t carry all that by myself! What on Earth did you buy??”
“There’s a really good cake store here!” notified Shiro while indulging himself with [yes, you guessed it] cake.
“I didn’t buy anything. There wasn’t anything there that I needed.” explained Ao Bom.
“And I couldn’t buy anything either because I gave all my money to Aka Bom to make up for that practical joke.” complained Kiiro while looking at the items overflowing the shopping bags.
“Are we done? Then let’s go home.” said Aka Bom.
Just then two young teenagers entered the mall, and everyone glanced at them, admiring their appearance.
“Wow, that girl is so pretty.” commented a guy
“She’s just like a model!”
“That guy with her looks cool!” mentioned a passing girl.
People began whispering about them amongst themselves, and as the Bom group began to leave the mall, Shiro bumped into the teenagers..
“Ow! Oh, I’m sorry…” apologised Shiro Bom dusting himself off.
“Hey! Watch where you’re going!” snapped the boy, straightening out his denim jacket.
“People can be so careless!” remarked the girl, flicking her long hair back.
“I said I was sorry! It was an accident!” protested Shiro.
“Why are you both so edgy? It was just a little bump! Shiro didn’t do that on purpose!!” defended Aka Bom.
“You both act like you own the place! Just loosen up!” said Ao Bom
“It’s not like you’re celebrities or anything! Who are you guys anyway?” Kiiro crossed his arms.
“I’m Violet Bom,” introduced the girl.
“I’m Viridian Bom,” introduced the boy.
“And you all should respect us!” they directed simultaneously.
“We’re not celebrities yet-not until we are given the starring roles of the major movie that’s being planned here in the mall.” explained Violet Bom.
“We’re gonna be famous! We’re the coolest people around, so you better treat us better!” said Viridian Bom haughtily.
Kiiro Bom couldn’t believe how arrogant they were,
“What?? Are you for real??”
“Better believe it sunshine ‘cos we’re the Cool Kids! No one’s better than us.” The duo replied defiantly.
Ao Bom scratched his head in disbelief,
“How can they treat us like that? Who do they think they are?”
“Lui lui lui!!”
“Bi Bo!”
The pets couldn’t believe their arrogance either.
“Ha! Nice toys you got there!” jeered the egotistical boy.
“They’re our pets, you horrible person! Don’t make fun of them!” fumed Aka Bom.
Viridian Bom just sneered,
“Yeah…whatever.”
“We can’t be seen with these losers-they’ll ruin our cool image,” said Violet Bom, moving away from Shiro and the others.
“How dare you talk that way about us!” retorted Shiro.
“You guys are so mean! I can’t believe you!” raged a firey Aka Bom.
As they were leaving the duo turned around in response to their remarks,
“We don’t have time to waste hanging around with you uncool people,” said Violet
“Why don’t you children go home and play with your building blocks or whatever…”
insulted Viridian, and with that last breath of word, the Cool Kids disappeared into a café to wait for the movie company to arrive.
The Bom group was flaring with anger. Their happy day had been turned bitter by the stuck-up twosome.
“You guys think you’re so cool, but you’re just pathetic!!” shouted Kiiro Bom, with a furious vein almost popping out of his head.
“Mean guys… what a way to ruin our day!” resented Shiro.
“Let’s just forget about them. They’re not worth getting worked up about.” said Aka Bom.
“Yeah, you’re right.” Shiro Bom cheered up.
“Let’s just continue our day as if we never met them.”
