Paul Edwards is the main man at Shisha Smoking Caterpillar. Seen here in his school uniform, Paul has been making music since he was knee-high to a grasshopper.  Using his creative genius, he manipulates the sounds created by fellow band members until they're almost unrecognisable BUT that's the beauty of Shisha Smoking Caterpillar!
Paul studied computing at A'level and this has helped him use the computer to full advantage on his work.
He is the producer of the upcoming album and so any negative criticism should be aimed towards him (and admittedly any positive criticism).
During the last year he produced an album (also with Colm O'Shea working with him) for another band, 'The 3 of Spades' which was, erm... well received.

Colm O'Shea is the guitarist, bass player and tabla mistro.
Colm is an important 'team player' as he is constantly reinforcing the quality of ideas, claiming that they're all 'amazing'. Positivity is obviously his motto.
Unfortunately, Colm is far away in Dubai and must contribute to the band by sending files through the internet.
Thanks Colm, until we're all together again at the Pyramids Cafe.
Here he can be seen playing the double bass which is very telling of his classical training. Colm is doing music A'level and has almost finished  working his way through the grades on both guitar and double bass. He is yet undecided whether to go into music during his further education.
Colm takes to the stage very well, one of his other A'levels being drama. He lead a very energetic and charismatic performance of Pearl Jam's 'Even Flow', with him on bass and vocals.
His classical singing debut was in a performance of Purcell's opera, 'Dido and Aeneas' where he played a witch, he will soon be starring as Bernardo in a production of  'West Side Story'.
Deena Shobaki contributes to the band by providing as many samples as possible for Paul to work his magic with and guiding him on the complicated, theoretical side of classical music. She plays piano, clarinet, recorder and cello and will be providing vocals for some of the new tracks.
Deena is primarily a classical musician, having passed ABRSM Grade 8 on the clarinet and achieving an A in her music A'level.
Her success on the piano came in the 'Young Musician of the Gulf' competition in March 2000 where she was one of eight contestants to reach the final.
Her plans now are to go on to study music and drama at Royal Holloway, University of London after her gap year.
The three band members knew each other from school (Dubai College, UAE) however the sparks for Shisha Smoking Caterpillar didn't start flying until the group met and became friends at the Pyramids Cafe - a nice arabic cafe nestled in the back of a cinema complex!
After Paul had worked with Colm and Kartik Sankar (the third member of 'The 3 of Spades') on an album which was sold at the College, Paul asked Deena to provide some samples for a new, more mellow and experimental project inspired by their time in Dubai, and the rest is history.
